The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, has announced that it will apply the Monitoring Tag to six altcoins following its latest evaluations. This update will take effect starting May 7, 2025.
The tokens that will receive the Monitoring Tag are:
-
Stella (ALPHA)
-
Hifi Finance (HIFI)
-
LeverFi (LEVER)
-
Movement (MOVE)
-
Portal (PORTAL)
-
Rei Network (REI)
What Is the Monitoring Tag?
The Monitoring Tag is a label used to flag projects that have high volatility and elevated risk levels. It indicates that Binance is placing the token under close observation and will be conducting regular reviews due to certain concerns. These tokens are at constant risk of delisting if they fail to meet Binance’s listing standards.
How Does This Affect Users?
To continue trading tokens with a Monitoring Tag on Spot and/or Margin platforms, users will need to complete a quiz every 90 days. This is designed to ensure that users are aware of the risks involved with these tokens. Additionally, risk warning banners will be displayed on the relevant trading and market overview pages for these tokens.
What Does Binance Evaluate?
Binance considers the following factors when deciding whether to add or remove a Monitoring Tag:
-
Commitment and activeness of the project team
-
Quality and consistency of development activity
-
Trading volume and liquidity
-
Network stability and resistance to attacks
-
Communication with the community and project transparency
-
Responsiveness to Binance’s due diligence requests
-
Evidence of unethical behavior or negligence
-
Compliance with new regulatory requirements
-
Sudden or unjustified changes in tokenomics or supply
-
Changes in ownership or key team members
-
Community feedback and investor sentiment
Other Services Will Remain Unaffected
Other Binance services related to these tokens will continue as normal for now. However, the addition of the Monitoring Tag is a sign that these projects should be closely monitored by investors moving forward.
