Greg Solano, co-founder and CEO of Yuga Labs, formerly known as Garga, hinted to the launch of a slate of fresh products created by a small internal team at the company in an X post on Friday.

Dubbed The Workshop, Solano said he formed the internal team following his February takeover of the CEO post from former Activision Blizzard executive Daniel Alegre. In April, Yuga Labs reduced many functions in a business reorganization focused on this transition.

“Labyrinthine organizational processes have been clouding the creative-first mentality that motivated this company from conception. We care and work hard, but somehow we wind up with committees and organizations. We plan more than we ship,” Solano said in a staff message at the time. “Getting ourselves centered and on the correct road requires being a smaller, more agile, and cryptonative team. a team that does little but does it brilliantly.”

Solano seems to have tried to assemble his dream team in The Workshop, which he details in his X post as “13 of our top engineers and product people. There is no fat; just doers.” Driving adoption to the upcoming ApeChain network is the team’s main concentration.

Solano said the team will be concentrated on rapidly shipping new items and eliminating the ones that don’t find appeal. According to Solano, the crew wants to “make delightful shit, on-chain, fast. Make new primitives and protocols or re-mix old ones. [The Workshop] is one of the primary ways you’re going to see us doing that in the coming weeks and months, as we roll out that team’s first set of products on ApeChain.”

Solano pointed out that Yuga Labs won’t sustain failed goods for long since it finds itself in a far less friendly atmosphere for NFT-related initiatives than in years past. “We will kill anything when it does not work. With love but no pity,” Solano said.

Driven by Arbitrum and shepherzed by Arbitrum developer Offchain Labs and Horizen Labs, the items will debut on ApeChain, the next Ethereum Layer 2 network for the Yuga Labs ecology. The plan calls for ApeCoin to be its native token and the ApeCoin DAO to be its main governing body.
