Cryptocurrency game Hytopia’s developer, rebranded as Hychain Games from NFT Worlds, is launching a node sale for the game’s Layer 2 blockchain, Hychain. The company stated that Hychain is based on Arbitrum Orbit technology.

According to the announcement, it is planned to release the “invite-only” beta version of Hytopia, which is largely inspired by Minecraft, until the end of the first quarter.

It was also stated that more than one million players have pre-registered for Hytopia’s beta version.

In its statement, Hychain Games said, “Hytopia emerged from the vision of transforming the Minecraft experience with blockchain technology.”

“Compared to Minecraft, Hytopia harnesses web3 functionality to introduce player-focused economies and real ownership of in-game assets.”

NFT Worlds, overturned the world by banning NFT integrations of Mojang Studios, the Swedish developer of Minecraft, in the summer of 2022.

NFT Worlds used the source code of Minecraft for NFT-backed metadata database. According to a report, at one point NFT Worlds’ non-fungible tokens had generated tens of millions of dollars in transaction revenue.

The developers of Hytopia hope that the sale of the Hytopia node will serve as an “invitation to the global gaming community to earn rewards for helping to ensure the operation and security of Hytopia’s core network.”

The co-founder of Hytopia and Hychain known by the pseudonym ArkDev said in the statement, “We contribute to the community and encourage participation in network security,” said “By decentralizing the operation of our network, we hand the keys over to the community and give them the power to shape the future of the game.”
