Off The Grid & Bored Apes Partnership: Expanding the Gaming Experience

Gunzilla Games has introduced the exclusive “Ape-ril” content pack for Off The Grid, featuring Bored Ape Yacht Club-themed items. Available only to Pro subscribers, this update includes two unique Bored Ape characters, two Ape-inspired weapons, and two fresh in-game emotes. Additionally, players who joined on April 1st received a limited-edition Ape-fool Mask.

This update arrives just days after Gunzilla launched the GUNZ mainnet. However, since its market debut. Despite the decline, its fully diluted valuation (FDV) remains at $550 million, surpassing tokens like ApeCoin and PRIME.

While $GUN has yet to be integrated into the game, Gunzilla has emphasized that this remains a top priority. In a further boost to the collaboration, Yuga Labs CEO Greg Solano announced that he will be joining the game to experience the new Bored Ape content.

Binance Introduces GUN/USDC Trading Pair

Starting April 3rd at 08.00, Binance will enable trading for the GUN/USDC pair, providing greater accessibility for European investors.

With USDC being the first global stablecoin fully compliant with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations, this move ensures that traders can buy and sell $GUN within a regulated framework.

The listing marks a significant step in expanding the Gunzilla ecosystem, increasing $GUN’s liquidity, and driving broader adoption.

Crypto.com Adds GUNZ (GUN) to Its Platform

Crypto.com has officially listed GUNZ (GUN), allowing users to purchase the token with USD, EUR, and over 20 fiat currencies.

GUNZ is a Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for Web3 gaming. Developed by Gunzilla Games, it was initially created to power Off The Grid, a next-gen battle royale title. Within the GUNZ ecosystem, the $GUN token serves as the primary utility currency, facilitating transactions and granting access to in-game features.

Beyond trading, Crypto.com users can also spend $GUN at over 80 million global merchants using the Crypto.com Visa Card. This listing significantly enhances $GUN’s adoption and accessibility.

Fireblocks Brings Institutional-Grade Custody to Gunzilla Games

Fireblocks has partnered with Gunzilla Games to deliver enterprise-level custodial solutions and integrated wallet options for the GUNZ blockchain. This collaboration aims to enhance security while ensuring users maintain full control over their digital assets.

Through this integration, institutional investors can securely manage their $GUN holdings and GUNZ Validator NFTs using Fireblocks’ advanced asset management platform. The solution provides high-security standards tailored to institutional needs.

Moreover, Fireblocks Embedded Wallets is now fully integrated with GUNZ, allowing players across all GUNZ-powered games to retain complete ownership of their in-game assets. This technology has already been successfully tested with over 800,000 wallets, showcasing its scalability and robustness.

With this integration, GUNZ now offers both custodial and non-custodial wallet solutions, reinforcing its commitment to building a secure, blockchain-powered gaming economy. This partnership represents a major step toward establishing a new industry standard for blockchain-based gaming platforms.

Greg Solano, co-founder of Yuga Labs and BAYC who recently assumed leadership of Yuga Labs, said in a press release, “ApeChain is betting that what matters most are apps—sso it’s prioritizing killer day one content partners, a robust ecosystem site that makes finding the coolest stuff on the chain easy, and a suite of developer tools that makes deploying novel experiences to ApeChain seamless.”

Launched early in 2021, the market-leading NFT series The Bored Ape Yacht Club attracted support among corporate brands and celebrities during the last bull market. Through launching a succession of metaverse and gaming products and granting token holders control to create their own creative works, the project developed its intellectual property.

Yuga assisted in the creation of ApeCoin in 2022 in order to support community governance and the incentive of growth. With its forthcoming Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain, ApeChain, the team is now seeking to create a new website so “users can easily navigate the ecosystem and discover new decentralized applications” that would use the native chain.

ApeCoin is also helping the web3 commerce sites Halliday, Decent, and Privy improve onboarding. Using payment companies MoonPay and Stripe, Halliday said it is creating a fiat-to-crypto onramp capable of “accepting payments in any token from any blockchain” in an X post.

These kinds of “distribution channels,” Solano pointed out, will “help creators get noticed.”

In addition, ApeChain is focusing especially on its Reboot Protocol, created alongside the NFT platform Pixel Vault as a game developer toolkit rewarding players for winning skill-based games on-chain and betting. The team intends to incorporate the just introduced Arbitrum Stylus code platform for dapp creation.

For the Bored Ape Yacht Club and NFTs generally, these actions coincide with a time of generally stagnation. From an era when some non-fungible tokens sold for millions of dollars, the NFT series is currently trading at a price floor of roughly 11 ETH (~$27,000), having failed to completely recover from the market meltdown in 2022.
