Miller criticized the modern attention span, adding, “When you tell someone it’s going to take 50 hours to learn, they immediately back off. They can’t even watch a Netflix series; even watching ‘White Lotus’ takes seven hours and they can’t handle it,” he said.

The celebrity also argued that the Hollywood system rewards people who conform rather than those who think differently. Therefore, embracing a radical financial shift like Bitcoin is especially difficult for many celebrities.

At a Bitcoin event hosted by Anthony Pompliano, Miller introduced himself as “probably the only celebrity who is a Bitcoiner,” stating, “I can’t really think of anyone else.”

Although several celebrities, including Iggy Azalea, Caitlyn Jenner, and Hailey Welch, have launched their own memecoins in recent years, Miller has consistently advocated genuine Bitcoin education.

Dune Analytics data shows that a mere 1.41% of tokens created on pump.fun have successfully made their way onto Raydium, a decentralized finance protocol on Solana. This success rate has fluctuated between 1.21% and 1.41% since May, with the all-time high of 2.56% recorded on February 16th.

Solana’s Memecoin Dilemma

Adam Cochran, a partner at Cinneamhain Ventures, suggested that “this all shows that we’ve finally killed the memecoin trend.” Bread, a crypto analyst and Web3 developer, echoed this sentiment, remarking, “I didn’t realize how brutal the memecoin trend on pump.fun actually is.” He pointed out that of the 1.58 million tokens created, only 22,300 made it to Raydium.

Some analysts argue that this low success rate is not indicative of the overall memecoin market but rather a reflection of how easy pump.fun makes it to create memecoins. Crypto personality Bunjil, with 56,900 followers, tweeted, “Pump fun didn’t kill memecoins, it just pulled back the curtain on how the sausage is made and made making the aforementioned sausage very easy.”

Despite the low success rate, the platform has generated significant revenue from creation fees. Pump.fun charges a 1% transaction fee until a token reaches a certain market capitalization threshold.

The platform has become a trend among celebrities, with the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Iggy Azalea, and Jason Derulo creating and promoting memecoins.

Jenner Token’s Rocky Debut

Last week, American media figure Caitlyn Jenner’s “JENNER” debuted among the most prominent celebrity memecoins on May 28. Many at first believed the token belonged to a deep fake X account hack.

Over the first 24 hours, JENNER reached a $30 million market valuation as people argued online about whether the celebrity actually launched and supported the coin. Though Jenner herself has personally confirmed that it is legal, it has now dropped 79% from its all-time high of $0.0061.

Still with a $6.1 million market cap is the Jenner token. Over the past week, it has not witnessed any spectacular price movements, though.

Other Celebrity Memecoins

Launched this week, the “RICH” cryptocurrency from American Rapper Rich the Kid also drew memecoin trading interest. The cryptocurrency has subsequently dropped to a $678,000 market capital value nonetheless.

Launched by Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke Oon, dubbed Timeless Davido (DAVIDO), another cryptocurrency has dropped over 66% to $0.0011 from a top-out of $0.0033 on May 30.

Among other celebs, tokens connected to American rapper Moneybagg Yo (SPEAK), boxing great Floyd Mayweather, and Trippie Red (BANDO) have dropped by over 90%.

Iggy Azalea’s MOTHER Token Defies the Trend

The only coin that hasn’t fallen prey to the destiny of most celebrity memecoins is the mom-inspired token created by artist and model Iggy Azalea on May 29.

On June 6, Mother Iggy flew to a $134 million market capitalization, therefore establishing a new all-time high price of $0.1272.

Shortly after controversial memecoin partner Sahil Arora introduced the Iggy Azalea (IGGY) token, which mostly failed to draw memecoin traders, Azalea started MOTHER. He was subsequently suspended on social networking platform X.

The creator of distributed exchange Uniswap, Hayden Adams, said he had “no issues” with the current celebrity memecoin mania but advised they should maximize their earnings.

“Iggy could have answered favorably and given money from profits to support a social cause or something.”

Caitlyn Jenner’s X account shared a link for the meme token on Sunday afternoon, writing, “Let’s win together!” Submit your favorite memecoins here.” she wrote. In a series of tweets, the reality TV star’s X account stated that it had not been hacked. Following this statement, a Twitter Space session was held in which Jenner’s account also participated, and another account, claimed to be Jenner’s manager, answered the questions. “I play golf,” she wrote on the account.

“There’s a lot going on today, and yes, crypto, my account is real,” she said in a follow-up video posted by the alleged Jenner on social media. However, many X users doubted the legitimacy of the account and video, some claimed that the video was deepfaked with artificial intelligence. Two more videos were uploaded with speakers claiming to be Jenner and her manager Sophia Hutchinson, who claimed the tweets were not fake or hacked.

American rapper Rich the Kid’s X account also posted similar tweets, but these tweets were later removed.

“Jenner and Rich the Kid tokens are linked and both are managed by the same wallet. Jenner just asked for donations,” wrote X user @CodeXBT. “At a time when everyone is being hacked, I wouldn’t trust the tweets sent today.”

On Polymarket’s prediction platform, a bet was opened on whether Jenner’s account was hacked or not, and only 7% of users think Jenner’s X account was hacked.

While speculation about the legitimacy of the account continued, Jenner’s Instagram account also promoted the meme token link to Pump.fun in line with the tweets.

The first tweet introducing memecoin from Jenner’s X account came with a photo of Jenner with former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump. Trump announced his strong support for cryptocurrency in his campaign. Jenner is known as a supporter of Trump and the Republican Party. In addition to promoting memecoin, account X also reshared tweets defending Trump’s crypto support.

Jenner memecoin currently has a market cap of approximately $30 million according to DEX Screener.
