Taker Protocol (TAKER) is a groundbreaking incentive protocol designed to transform the Bitcoin ecosystem by empowering retail investors and expanding the community by 100x. Built on Web3 technology, Taker encourages millions of users to adopt, hold, and leverage Bitcoin and its derivatives through innovative reward systems. Curious about what makes Taker Protocol so exciting? Let’s explore this game-changing project in detail!

What is Taker Protocol?

Taker Protocol is the first and largest Bitcoin incentive layer, focused on maximizing returns for individual Bitcoin holders. Unlike traditional Layer 2 solutions or purely financial protocols, Taker acts as a growth engine, driving user adoption through its EVM-compatible Taker Chain. By supporting Bitcoin derivatives and liquid staking derivatives (LSDs) like wBTC, cbBTC, and SolvBTC, Taker makes it easy for users to join and benefit from the ecosystem.

Key Features:

Retail-Focused: Tailored for small-scale Bitcoin holders to optimize their gains.

EVM Compatibility: Seamlessly integrates with Ethereum-based dApps and tools.

Economic Flywheel: Boosts user traffic to create a self-sustaining growth loop.

Bitcoin Derivatives Support: Includes popular assets like wBTC, cbBTC, and SolvBTC.

Taker is a blockchain project that prioritizes user growth, aiming to expand the Bitcoin community while delivering real yield opportunities.

Taker Chain: The Technological Foundation

The backbone of Taker Protocol, Taker Chain, is a high-performance, secure, and decentralized blockchain network. Its EVM compatibility ensures easy integration with existing Ethereum tools, and it stands out with the following technical features:

Nominated Proof of Liquidity (NPoL)

Taker Chain introduces NPoL (Nominated Proof of Liquidity), a novel consensus mechanism built on NPoS (Nominated Proof of Stake). By incentivizing liquidity contributions, NPoL enhances network security and participation. It consists of:

NPoS Layer: Token holders (nominators) select validators to secure the network.

POL Layer: Validators stake liquidity tokens (e.g., $TAKER) to ensure stability and earn rewards.

This system boosts security, scalability, and fair reward distribution.

Dual Finality Mechanism

Probabilistic Finality (BABE): Ensures continuous block production for network progress.

Provable Finality (GRANDPA): Guarantees irreversible blocks, enhancing network reliability.

Secure and Proportional Elections

Taker Chain employs a fair and proportional validator election system, maintaining decentralization and network integrity.

High Performance

With fast finality and high transaction throughput (TPS), Taker Chain delivers a smooth user experience.

Taker Sowing: The User Growth Engine

Taker Sowing is Taker’s user acquisition powerhouse, already attracting over 5 million users. This zero-barrier, task-based incentive system guides users into the Bitcoin ecosystem. Key features include:

Zero-Barrier Tasks: On-chain and off-chain tasks help users learn about Bitcoin projects and interact with them.

Taker Diamonds: Users earn Taker Diamonds upon task completion, granting access to future $TAKER airdrops.

Laser Medal NFT: A special NFT that symbolizes user loyalty and contribution.

Sowing bridges education, incentives, and asset integration, driving mass Bitcoin adoption.

Lite Mining Node: Accessible Participation

Lite Mining Node is a lightweight, task-based system designed for broad user engagement without technical barriers. Users earn Taker Points (TP) through simple on-chain tasks. Features include:

User-Friendly: Appeals to both Web2 and Web3 users, lowering entry barriers.

Rewards: TP accumulation unlocks airdrops and ecosystem benefits.

NFT Integration: Future tasks may require specific NFTs, enhancing user loyalty.

Lite Mining fosters daily engagement, boosting ecosystem activity and user value.

Taker Swap: DEX for Bitcoin LSDs

Taker Swap is a low-slippage decentralized exchange (DEX) built for Bitcoin LSD assets. Key features include:

Liquidity Aggregation: AMM pools ensure efficient matching with minimal slippage.

Smart Routing: Automatically finds the best swap paths for optimal pricing.

Taker Lend Integration: Swapped assets can be deposited into lending pools for additional yield.

Taker Swap offers community-driven liquidity optimized for Bitcoin derivatives.

Taker Lend: Decentralized Lending Platform

Taker Lend is a decentralized lending protocol that allows users to borrow stablecoins using Bitcoin LSD assets like wBTC, cbBTC, and SolvBTC as collateral. Features include:

Trump’s DeFi project World Liberty Financial surpasses 45 million dollars in cryptocurrency purchases in December!

Similarly, World Liberty Financial made a purchase of 250,000 dollars worth of the DeFi token ONDO last night.

On December 14, they acquired 500,000 dollars worth of Ethena (ENA) tokens. Following the news, ENA token gained over 20% in value. Before the purchase, ENA was trading below 1 dollar, and now it is trading above 1.20 dollars.

Additionally, ONDO also saw an increase of more than 15% in the last 24 hours.

According to Lookonchain‘s X post on December 16, the World Liberty Financial wallet has made approximately 45 million dollars worth of cryptocurrency purchases since November 30.

Last week, World Liberty Financial triggered the rise of AAVE and LINK, spending a total of 44.75 million dollars on 6 different cryptocurrencies since November 30.

On average, World Liberty Financial made the following purchases:

8,105 ETH at an average price of 3,701 dollars (30 million dollars)

102.9 cbBTC at an average price of 97,181 dollars (10 million dollars)

78,387 LINK at an average price of 25.5 dollars (2 million dollars)

6,137 AAVE at an average price of 325 dollars (2 million dollars)

509,955 ENA at an average price of 0.98 dollars (500,000 dollars)

134,216 ONDO at an average price of 1.8 dollars (250,000 dollars)

The project, announced in September, presents itself as a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform for cryptocurrency trading.

It lists President-elect Trump as the “chief crypto advocate” and his sons Donald Jr, Eric, and Barron as “ambassadors.” A company linked to the family receives 75% of the net revenue.

Recently, Nansen research analyst Nicolai Søndergaard made the following statements to Bloomberg:

Nicolai Søndergaard: “World Liberty’s token purchases could be a way to gain additional confidence and strengthen the project by shedding light on these assets. If these assets succeed, the project will likely perform well.”

The project has struggled to meet its sales target for the World Liberty Financial (WLFI) token. So far, it has only sold less than a quarter of the 300 million dollars worth of WLFI tokens released to the market.

However, the project received significant support last month when Justin Sun, the founder of the Tron blockchain, invested 30 million dollars and became the largest investor. He later joined as an advisor, providing crucial backing to the project.

Paul Grewal, the Chief Legal Officer of Coinbase, has responded to recent worries over the terms of service of the newly introduced cbBTC “wrapped Bitcoin” product. Grewal verified that should malicious conduct or unanticipated occurrences cause the exchange to lose the underlying Bitcoin, Coinbase will completely refund customers.

The explanation followed a user’s questions concerning a clause in the cbBTC user agreement, alleging it indicated Coinbase may only repay a proportionate piece of the remaining Bitcoin instead of the whole lost. Grewal reassured me that losses of the underlying Bitcoin owned by Coinbase are not covered by this policy; it only applies in particular circumstances, such complicated trades or leveraged holdings.

For instance, Coinbase would completely compensate lost Bitcoin should a trader utilize cbBTC as loan collateral on lending sites and the underlying Bitcoin is lost. Any fees or damages suffered from loan liquidations resulting from the loss would not be reimbursed, nevertheless.

Launching cbBTC on September 12, Coinbase targets consumers in the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, all US states except New York. This release coincided with continuous debate about BitGo’s Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) product and Tron Founder Justin Sun’s participation in that endeavour.

BitGo revealed on August 9 a multi-jurisdictional custody agreement dividing the asset custody sites for the underlying Bitcoin among Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United States. Reassurance from BitGo CEO Mike Belsche, who explained Sun would not have authority over the money, came from worries regarding Sun’s influence over the initiative.

Following these issues, the Sky (previously Maker) community opted to remove WBTC off their platform. Concurrently, Coinbase’s cbBTC has become rather well-known and ranks third among all the wrapped BTC tokens in just one week.

The CEO of Coinbase’s Singapore division announced on Saturday’s Solana Breakpoint 2024 event held in Singapore that the company intends to bring its cbBTC coin onto the Solana blockchain.

“We recently launched cbBTC on Base, but our users love Solana, and so do we,” Country Director of Singapore Hassan Ahmed of Coinbase stated on a panel discussion at Breakpoint. Ahmed did not, however, provide a specific schedule of when cbBTC will be available on Solana.

Originally teasing the token in August, the centralized digital asset exchange debuted wrapped bitcoin last week. Launch saw cbBTC put out on Ethereum and Base networks.

Supported 1:1 by bitcoin that Coinbase owns, the ERC-20 token seeks customers wishing to utilize it as collateral for other assets or to give bitcoin liquidity to Ethereum and Base ecosystems. Following changes in the ownership of the competitor token WBTC, the corporation announced the token.

Coinbase announced at launch it was trying to increase the acceptance of cbBTC among other blockchain systems. Based on information from CoinGecko, the Coinbase-wrapped Bitcoin now has a market capitalization of over $137 million.

Speaking on the subject of the roles of institutions in Web3, Ahmed noted that the “most impressive” show of institutions supporting diversification in blockchain is Jump Crypto’s work with the Firedancer validator client on Solana.

“Client diversity is one of the basic components of the Nakamoto coefficient,” added Ahmed. “So once Frankendancer and Firedancer are live, this is a huge upgrade on Solana’s network decentralization.”

Kevin Bowers, Jump Crypto’s chief scientific officer, said at Breakpoint on Friday that the Frankendancer validator client, a prototype of the much-awaited Firedancer, started functioning on the Solana mainnet and that Firedancer is running on the testnet.

Designed to handle Solana with the Agave validator client in a dual system for maximum performance, Frankendancer—then subsequently Firedancer

Blockchain developer Liam Heeger of Firedancer gave further information today at Breakpoint that the whole non-voting, non-block creating Firedancer validator client has been up on-and-off for the roughly two months, but stated it is not yet suitable for general use and production.

Justin Sun, the founder of Tron (TRX), has publicly voiced strong criticism of a newly launched cryptocurrency.

In a recent statement, Sun took aim at cbBTC, a Bitcoin alternative introduced by Coinbase, questioning its transparency and decentralization. He particularly pointed out the lack of proof of reserves and insufficient auditing.

Sun accused Coinbase of having the ability to freeze balances at will, raising concerns about the centralization risks inherent in cbBTC. “cbBTC lacks proof of reserves, has no audits, and can freeze anyone’s balance at any time. It’s essentially saying ‘just trust us,’” Sun remarked, adding that any subpoena from the U.S. government could result in the seizure of all related Bitcoin holdings.

He even dubbed cbBTC as “central bank Bitcoin.”

His sharp critique comes amidst growing discussions about Sun’s involvement in the governance of Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), which has further fueled debate.

Sun concluded his comments by highlighting a stark contrast between Bitcoin’s foundational principles and what cbBTC represents. He stated, “There’s no more absurd combination in the world than central banks and Bitcoin. I believe this is a reality that Satoshi Nakamoto could never have envisioned when creating Bitcoin.”

Coinbase has hinted about the forthcoming launch of a new product dubbed “cbBTC” which would raise questions about the possible release of a wrapped Bitcoin unit by the American-based bitcoin exchange.

The official X account of Coinbase on Aug. 13 issued a weird tweet with only one word: “cbBTC” then a remark pointing “coming soon.” The kind of the product has attracted a lot of discussion in the bitcoin space; many believe it to be a wrapped Bitcoin token.

Speculation Amid Controversy Surrounding Wrapped Bitcoin

The narrative revolves around BitGo, the firm behind Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), which not too recently revealed a new joint venture with Justin Sun, Tron creator. Sun’s involvement created a conversation within the distributed finance (DeFi) community.

A few DeFi members have expressed worries about the developments, which has led to requests for significant actions meant to eradicate WBTC support. Regarding Sun’s “unacceptable level of risk,” Blockchain risk management company Block Analitica Labs (BA Labs) advised on MakerDAO’s governance forum to cancel all new WBTC loans and limit new borrowing against WBTC collateral.

BitGo CEO Matt Belshe said WBTC’s security policies are the same and dismissed these worries as overreaction to Sun’s image rather than real issues. Sun also discussed the matter stressing that his employment does not provide him direct access to WBTC money.

The mysterious remark made by Coinbase has introduced even another level of confusion to the current debates around wrapped Bitcoin and motivated the community to find out what cbBTC would provide.
