Tether USDT Issuance Peaks on Ethereum and TRON

Tether is ramping up its minting operations to meet rising demand for stablecoins. According to data from Spot On Chain, the company minted $2 billion USDT on Ethereum and $1 billion USDT on TRON in just the past three days. Moreover, the USDT supply on TRON has reached $71.71 billion, making it the leading network by supply. Additionally, Tether has minted a total of $12 billion USDT on TRON in 2025 so far, indicating rapid adoption of stablecoins. 

Spot On Chain stated on Monday: 

“The total supply of USDT on TRON has now reached $71.71 billion, making it the largest supply among all chains.” 

Crypto Crimes Surge on Ethereum and TRON 

Bitrace’s crypto crime report clearly shows that illegal activities are intensifying on the Ethereum and TRON networks. For instance, high-risk addresses collected $649 billion in 2024, marking a slight increase compared to 2023. The report also highlights that stablecoins (ERC20_USDT, TRC20_USDT, ERC20_USDC, TRC20_USDC) are frequently used in illicit transactions. As a result, Ethereum and TRON have become key hubs for criminal activity. 

Ethereum Price Consolidates at $1,800 

Ethereum is trading around the $1,800 level. Bulls are trying to break the $1,860 resistance created by the 50-day EMA. The RSI indicator stands at 55.38, placing it in the neutral zone. Bulls still maintain control. A breakout above $1,860 could drive momentum toward the $2,000 resistance level. Otherwise, the price may remain within a descending channel. 

TRON Faces Downside Risks 

TRON is under pressure as its RSI indicator falls below the 50 level. Growing downside risks are pushing investors to adopt a cautious stance. Despite increased stablecoin demand, TRON’s technical indicators are weakening. If TRON loses support at the 50-day EMA, bulls will look for support near $0.23 at the 100-day EMA. However, if losses accelerate, prices may test critical support around $0.22, where the 200-day EMA intersects. These levels will be crucial in determining TRON’s direction.

Allegations Against Richard Heart

The Red Notice, issued at the request of Finnish authorities, alleges that Heart is guilty of tax fraud between June 2, 2020, and April 2, 2024. It also accuses him of assaulting a 16-year-old victim, reportedly dragging the victim by their hair and knocking them down in a stairwell.

Though a Red Notice is not an international arrest warrant, it acts as a request for law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest the individual. The allegations were first detailed in a remand order issued three months ago, on September 13, 2024.

Heart Remains Active on Social Media

Despite the charges, Richard Heart has continued to remain active on social media platforms. In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post on December 21, he indirectly addressed the situation, saying:

“If the haters really wanted to get me down, they could raise more than the $27M I did for medical research.”

Heart further stated, “Nothing makes haters angrier than success. Every time they think of you, it reminds them how they’re not doing half what they could.”

Ongoing SEC Lawsuit

Heart is also entangled in a lawsuit with the SEC over the alleged unregistered offerings of Hex, PulseChain (PLS), and PulseX (PSLX). The SEC claims he raised over $1 billion through these token sales, touting them as “a pathway to grandiose wealth for investors.”

In August 2024, Heart requested the dismissal of the $1 billion lawsuit, but the SEC argued that it holds full authority to pursue the case.

According to information from sources familiar with the matter, the South China Morning Post has learned that a Hong Kong businessman and his son have handed themselves over to the police because they were involved in the kidnapping of a cryptocurrency investor.

The report says that the old man, who is 70 years old and called dad, was taken into custody with his son, who is 30 years old, on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault, and it is said that both are being held at Tai Po Police Station. Although the suspects were not the actual perpetrators of the robbery event, it was found as a result of the investigation that the car used in the operation belonged to the two persons.

In the story, the businessman has reportedly put in well over HK$15 million (about $1.9 million) in cryptocurrency with the help of a woman, “an acquaintance through references.” From initial investigations, it was found that the businessman was not able to recover his money and the woman was, in most cases, not reachable, which may have contributed to the situation worsening to the point where illegal acts were taken.

An unknown person who was in possession of a stun gun apparently attacked the wife’s husband when he tried to interrupt the kidnapping. Consequently, he suffered injuries. It is reported by people who are knowledgeable about the situation that the police refused to completely eliminate the possibility that a group of “four men was paid to carry out the job.“
