Agora is a blockchain platform aimed at accelerating financial transactions and promoting global adoption of digital currency. At the center of its ecosystem is AUSD (Agora Dollar), a stablecoin backed 1:1 with USD, allowing users to conduct secure, fast, and low-cost digital transactions.

What is AUSD Stablecoin?

AUSD can be used for decentralized transfers, DeFi applications, payments, NFTs, and digital voting solutions. Gas optimization ensures low transaction fees, while providing secure infrastructure for institutional partners.

AUSD’s Instant Liquidity feature allows users to atomically mint the token against USDC and USDT. Cross-Chain Bridging enables transfers across different blockchains, and White-Labeled Stablecoin infrastructure allows partners to launch their own stablecoins within a day.

AUSD is 100% backed by the Agora Reserve Fund, consisting of cash, overnight repurchase/reverse repurchase agreements, and short-term U.S. Treasury securities, ensuring security and constant accessibility.

What is $AUSD?

$AUSD is the official token symbol on the Agora platform. It is a 1:1 USD-backed stablecoin serving as a secure payment and transfer medium for both institutional and individual users. It integrates with Ethereum, Solana, 50+ public blockchains, and traditional finance rails (Correspondent Banking and SWIFT). Users can atomically mint AUSD against USDC and USDT, enabling interoperability across stablecoins.

Team and Founders

The Agora project is managed by a team with extensive experience in blockchain, finance, and technology:

Investors and Notable Partners

Agora raised $12M in seed funding (2024) and $50M in Series A (2025), totaling $62M, led by Paradigm (Charlie Noyes). Other investors include Dragonfly (early-stage supporter) and VanEck (strategic partner for reserve management).

Notable Partnerships:

Project Concept

Core Idea: Create a reliable digital dollar (AUSD) backed 1:1 with USD, minimizing barriers to access, transfer, and usage.

Scope: Extends beyond financial services to secure digital voting (VOTE token) and low-latency streaming capabilities.

How the Project Works

Agora mints AUSD 1:1 with USD, with reserves managed by VanEck and State Street (cash, repo agreements, short-term US Treasuries). Users can acquire AUSD with fiat, perform cross-chain transfers via Wormhole, and mint AUSD atomically against USDC/USDT.

Partners can launch their own stablecoins on AUSD infrastructure via White-Label Stablecoin services. Gas-optimized transactions are fast and low-cost (e.g., seconds on Injective network).

Google has unveiled a new open-source payments protocol designed to make financial transactions between AI-powered applications faster, more secure, and more efficient. The system not only supports traditional payment methods such as credit and debit cards but also integrates stablecoin-based payments, bringing digital assets into the AI economy.

Partnership with Coinbase and Salesforce

To enable stablecoin compatibility, Google partnered with Coinbase, leveraging the exchange’s existing AI and crypto payment infrastructure. In addition, Google collaborated with the Ethereum Foundation and more than 60 other organizations, including Salesforce, American Express, and Etsy, to shape different aspects of the protocol.

According to James Tromans, Head of Web3 at Google Cloud, the protocol was designed to align with today’s payment rails while also incorporating forward-looking solutions such as stablecoins.

AI Agents and the Future of Finance

In the AI ecosystem, “agents” refer to specialized algorithms built for particular tasks. Some agents can generate code, while others can browse online marketplaces to complete purchases.

Experts believe that in the near future, AI agents will increasingly communicate directly with one another, without human involvement. This could allow an AI financial advisor to negotiate mortgage terms with AI systems from various banks, or an AI shopping assistant to interact with online vendors to find the best products for a user.

Standardization Efforts Began in April

Earlier this year, Google released a protocol to establish a standardized communication framework for AI agents. The newly launched payments layer builds upon that foundation, enabling secure and transparent financial interactions between AI systems.

Tromans emphasized that this innovation ensures transactions between AI agents are carried out safely, accurately, and in line with human intentions.

Coinbase and Google’s Shared Vision

Erik Reppel, Head of Engineering at Coinbase’s developer platform, noted that both companies worked closely to ensure their systems are interoperable. He explained, “We’re all working to figure out how AI can seamlessly transfer value between each other.”

Big Tech and the Stablecoin Push

Google is one of the most visible major tech companies exploring stablecoin adoption. Amid a more crypto-friendly policy environment in the U.S., other global players such as Apple, Airbnb, and Meta have also explored stablecoin integration.

In June, Shopify announced its own plans to enable stablecoin payments for users later this year, signaling that the use of stablecoins is spreading beyond crypto markets and into mainstream technology services.

MetaMask is preparing to launch its own stablecoin, MetaMask USD (mmUSD), in collaboration with Stripe. This stablecoin will be issued using Stripe’s payment infrastructure, enabling MetaMask users to transition between fiat and cryptocurrencies faster and more reliably. The project aims to secure a significant position in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.

A governance proposal submitted to the community suggests that mmUSD will be issued on the “M⁰” network. Stripe will be a key partner in regulatory compliance and financial trustworthiness. Additionally, mmUSD is positioned as a direct competitor to popular stablecoins such as USDC, USDT, and DAI.

Serving over 30 million active users worldwide, MetaMask’s partnership will allow users to easily move their fiat currencies into the DeFi ecosystem. This will increase stablecoin adoption and broaden access to DeFi.

New Opportunities in the DeFi Ecosystem with mmUSD

MetaMask plans to integrate mmUSD not only as a payment and transaction medium but also with DeFi protocols like Aave. Users will be able to lend, borrow, and earn yields with their stablecoins easily. This integration will establish mmUSD as a strong asset within dApps.

Stripe’s regulatory and compliance infrastructure will pave the way for wide acceptance of the stablecoin. It will create a trustworthy financial bridge for new users and institutional investors, making the MetaMask ecosystem more accessible and functional.

Although the project has not been officially announced yet, it has generated great excitement in the crypto community. MetaMask’s stablecoin initiative signals its transformation from a wallet service to a comprehensive financial platform.

Donald Trump’s crypto asset $TRUMP has started to be accepted as a payment method in official merchandise stores. This development has resonated widely both in the crypto ecosystem and the political arena. Websites like GetTrumpSneakers.com, GetTrumpWatches.com, and GetTrumpFragrances.com now allow users to pay with the $TRUMP token.

This coin operates on the Solana network and is integrated with Solana Pay infrastructure, drawing attention as a meme coin. Thanks to Solana-supported payment systems, the shopping process has become fast and low-cost in terms of transaction fees.

Crypto Data Space and other major crypto media outlets described this development as “an important step for the tangible commercial use of crypto assets.” However, choosing a meme coin instead of a stablecoin for the payment infrastructure sparked debates on whether this is a marketing strategy or a political message.

$TRUMP Coin Usage Comes with Privileges

Offering exclusive benefits to token holders has intensified the debates. For example, users holding a certain amount of $TRUMP earned the right to attend a special dinner at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC. This raised ethical concerns in the US Senate.

Senator Elizabeth Warren reacted strongly, calling this development a “corruption feast.” Meanwhile, Senator Jeff Merkley introduced a bill to prevent crypto earnings from becoming a revenue source for politicians. However, Trump’s allies blocked this bill from passing into law.

Additionally, internal family conflicts surfaced. The “Trump Wallet” wallet project, promoted on the Magic Eden platform, was openly opposed by Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Barron Trump. They stated that this project has no official connection to them and their names were used without permission.

Trump’s Influence in the Crypto World is Growing

This move by Trump could mark a significant turning point in integrating cryptocurrencies into mainstream commerce. It also serves as a notable example to watch closely regarding political figures’ direct involvement in blockchain projects.

While stablecoins have become increasingly popular for global payments, many countries still ban domestic crypto usage. Nations like China, Indonesia, Russia, and Turkey have restrictions on local crypto transactions — but legal experts say these bans often don’t extend to payments made abroad.

According to Meric Paldimoglu, founder of Turkey-based Paldimoglu Law Firm, “As a general rule, national laws only apply to actions within that country’s borders or involving its citizens directly.” This opens a gray area for cross-border crypto payments.

Paying in Crypto from Abroad?

In June 2025, Georgian travel agency Tripzy began accepting Tether (USDt) payments via CityPay. The feature was introduced to offer flexibility to travelers, especially those from countries with fiat or crypto restrictions like Russia and Turkey.

Tripzy noted that crypto provides “freedom and speed” in transactions. Legal experts confirm that no current Russian or Turkish laws prohibit residents from using crypto when shopping from foreign businesses.

Russia’s Digital Financial Assets Law only restricts the domestic use of crypto in contracts, while Turkey’s ban is limited to local payment and e-money institutions. Paldimoglu emphasized, “If a Turkish citizen makes a purchase from a foreign website, Turkish regulations do not apply.”

Regulatory Gaps Under Global Scrutiny

Although these legal loopholes don’t directly conflict with international laws, they could attract the attention of global watchdogs like the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Analysts warn that if countries like Georgia become crypto payment gateways for residents of restricted regions, this could result in international pressure. While a single company like Tripzy may not trigger sanctions, broader trends could escalate responses — not necessarily from Russia or Turkey, but from global compliance systems.

FATF Raises Red Flags on Stablecoins

FATF has recently highlighted the rising role of stablecoins in illicit finance, pointing to increased use by North Korean actors and terrorist groups. As of 2024, a majority of on-chain illicit transactions involve stablecoins.

The FATF plans to publish a dedicated report on stablecoins in early 2026, underlining its growing focus on anti-money laundering (AML) enforcement in the crypto space.

The South African initiative has partnered with BTS and Serti Solutions to enable crypto payments for cars at over 1,400 car dealerships.

Bridging the Gap Between Customers and Car Dealerships

South African fintech startup 6DOT50 has partnered with BTS and Serti Solutions to facilitate cryptocurrency payments for car purchases. With this collaboration, customers can now use eight different cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), to buy new or used vehicles at over 1,400 car dealerships.

6DOT50, in its announcement, stated that its platform uses a coupon system to bridge the gap between cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies, reducing the risks associated with crypto. The company claims to have processed a total of $1 million in crypto transactions across more than 90,000 stores.

With this innovative solution, 6DOT50 joins the ranks of South African supermarket chain Pick n Pay, which has adopted digital assets as a payment method.

Pick n Pay had begun accepting Bitcoin as a payment method in over 1,500 stores across South Africa.

Partnership for Crypto Payments

Explaining the rationale behind the partnership, 6DOT50 founder Warren Venter said:

“6DOT50 coupons offer an excellent solution for bridging the gap between crypto users and dealerships that want to receive payments in local fiat currencies. The process is fast and simple, eliminating volatility risks and integration challenges, making it easier for both parties. We are excited to integrate this payment solution into a wide network of dealerships.”

According to the statement, users can easily convert their cryptocurrencies into 6DOT50 coupons, which can then be redeemed via the Serti Solutions platform.

The South African fintech company emphasizes that this streamlined process provides a strong alternative to traditional payment methods, enabling dealerships to reach a broader customer base.

According to BitPay’s announcement on October 17, Xsolla integrated BitPay’s XRP crypto payment processing system into the Pay Station platform.

Roblox, an online game platform with over 200 million active monthly users, has started offering the possibility to make in-game purchases with the XRP cryptocurrency. This new payment option was implemented as a result of collaboration between Roblox’s in-game payment processor Xsolla and crypto payment provider BitPay.

Los Angeles-based gaming company, Xsolla, enabled XRP as a payment option in their games by collaboration with BitPay.

Also this allows Xsolla customers to purchase in-game items for games like Roblox and Smitegame with XRP.

The addition of XRP expands BitPay’s crypto payment options to the top 16 digital currencies.

Xsolla, founded in 2005 and based in Los Angeles, is a company offering custom payment and trade solutions for video game developers and publishers. Additionally Xsolla manages in-game Roblox transactions on platforms like Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Just in the first quarter of 2023, Roblox users spent almost $773 million on in-game purchases. The addition of XRP payments facilitates seamless interaction with crypto wallets for these purchases.

According to BitPay’s announcement on October 17, Xsolla integrated BitPay’s crypto payment processing system into the Pay Station platform. This integration enables a seamless connection between users’ crypto wallets and games.

The collaboration between Xsolla and BitPay dates back to when Xsolla began accepting Bitcoin payments through BitPay in 2014. Over the years, BitPay has expanded its crypto payment options and currently supports 16 different digital currencies.

In August 2023, following Ripple’s legal victory, BitPay began offering global support for XRP. This update allows BitPay wallet users to safely purchase, sell, and store XRP.

For Xsolla, this step is part of their effort to make cryptocurrencies a common payment method in the gaming industry. Also the company has collaborated with other crypto platforms like Coinchange Financial and Crypto.com to integrate NFTs and token transactions.

The adoption of XRP by Roblox is an important milestone that could contribute to wider acceptance of in-game crypto payments. This move by Roblox, one of the world’s most popular online gaming platforms, could encourage further adoption of cryptocurrency transactions in the gaming industry as a whole.
