A new report in the crypto market has turned attention to Binance and the Trump-linked USD1 stablecoin. Bloomberg’s latest article claims that Binance wrote the code for the Trump-connected USD1 stablecoin. According to the report, the exchange not only provided technical support but also managed the process, controlled the coin’s value, and generated income for the Trump family. These allegations mark a new era of political influence debates in the crypto world.

Although the information in the report has not been directly confirmed by primary sources, it is based on three anonymous insiders. Binance’s founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) strongly denied the accusations and announced he is considering a defamation lawsuit. However, his statement did not directly refute any of the technical details mentioned in the report.

How Deep is the Connection Between Binance and USD1?

There is no documented concrete partnership between Binance and Trump yet. However, the report emphasizes that their link is not superficial. For example, USD1 quickly reached a $2 billion market cap, while its circulating supply remained extremely limited. This suggests that the majority of the stablecoin is controlled by specific actors.

Analysis in Bloomberg’s article claims that a significant portion of this supply is still held by Binance, and market manipulation occurs through buying and selling activities. Moreover, the process reportedly provides steady income to the Trump family, creating a financial interest. Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao reacted to the news here:

4. FUD. Bloomberg just wrote another hit piece (sponsored by a competitor) containing so many factual errors I don't even know where to begin.

Might have to sue them again for defamation. https://t.co/FevGMArHj8

— CZ BNB (@cz_binance) July 11, 2025

The listing of USD1 on Binance attracted more attention with other Trump-linked crypto assets also moving to the platform. Additionally, a $32.8 million transfer of Trump’s memecoins directly to Binance further strengthened this connection.

Allegations Continue, Parties Remain Silent

Trump’s White House representatives declined to comment on the news. Officials from World Liberty Financial described the report as an “attempt to create political agenda.” CZ’s statements mostly contained personal criticisms directed at the reporters. A Binance spokesperson reminded that CZ no longer holds an official role in the company but did not provide data that would directly disprove the allegations.

It is worth recalling that CZ was previously convicted on money laundering charges and later applied for a presidential pardon. At that time, his denials were later confirmed to be false. Therefore, public trust remains low.

In the end, only a court process can clarify whether the allegations are true or not. If Binance indeed wrote the code for USD1 and financially benefited the Trump family during this process, it will raise both ethical and legal controversies.

CZ: “No One Lives Forever”

In a recent post on X, CZ stated, “This is a topic people avoid, but the fact is, humans cannot live forever.” He stressed the importance of enabling asset distribution based on predefined instructions. According to CZ, every platform should ensure that users can designate accounts and proportions for inheritance.

Binance Rolls Out Emergency Contact Feature

On June 12, Binance introduced a new inheritance feature, allowing users to appoint an emergency contact. If an account shows prolonged inactivity, the platform will notify the designated contact, who can then initiate the inheritance process.

The crypto community has praised this update, especially in light of reports that over $1 billion in digital assets go unclaimed yearly due to unexpected deaths and lack of planning.

Legal Experts Urge Action

Dubai-based attorney Irina Heaver emphasized the growing need for estate planning in crypto. She warned that many families are locked out of accessing digital wealth without technical details and inheritance protocols. Investors aged 27–42, who dominate the crypto market, often neglect end-of-life planning, she added.

The new Binance feature is seen as a major step toward safeguarding user assets and setting new industry standards for digital inheritance.

CZ addressed the media reports today regarding claims that the Trump family held talks to make a deal with Binance.

What Did CZ Say About the Trump Family and Binance Allegations?

Moments ago, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) addressed the recent allegations regarding his relationship with the U.S. government. CZ firmly denied the media reports, stating that he has not engaged in any discussions with any U.S. officials or representatives. His statement comes at a time when speculation about Binance’s status and its ties with the U.S. is increasing, sparking curiosity in the market.

Here’s Changpeng Zhao’s (CZ) statement on X:

“Sorry to disappoint, but the WSJ article got the facts wrong.

More than 20 people told me they were asked by WSJ (and another media outlet), ‘Can you confirm that CZ made some deal for a pardon?’

They probably asked hundreds of people just to have 20 people reach out to me. In essence, they tried hard to create a story to report.

Fact: I have had no discussions of a Binance US deal with … well, anyone.

No felon would mind a pardon, especially being the only one in U.S. history sentenced to prison for a single BSA charge.

This article seems to be motivated as an attack on the President and crypto, with the remnants of the previous administration’s ‘war on crypto’ still in play.

I am always happy to make crypto great everywhere, in the U.S. and the rest of the world.

It’s good to see that even WSJ thinks I should be pardoned!”

CZ’s statements clearly refute the allegations of a deal between Binance and the Trump family, while also questioning the media’s influence on the crypto industry.

Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has been released from a U.S. federal prison on September 27, after serving a reduced four-month sentence for violations related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules. CZ, the wealthiest individual to serve a prison term in the U.S. with an estimated net worth of $60 billion, was initially sentenced after pleading guilty in November to charges concerning the failure to implement proper AML controls at Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

In addition to the AML violations, CZ’s plea included charges related to unlicensed money transmitting and sanctions violations. Prosecutors argued that CZ knowingly allowed Binance to process transactions between U.S. users and users in sanctioned regions, including Iran, violating U.S. law.

CZ’s sentence was a reduction from the original 36-month term the Department of Justice (DOJ) had sought, with the court citing insufficient evidence of his knowledge of illegal activities at Binance. He also paid a $50 million fine as part of the case, while Binance itself paid $4.3 billion in penalties for breaking U.S. AML laws.

After spending the first two months in a minimum-security prison in California, CZ was moved to a halfway house in Long Beach, where he was allowed supervised excursions during the day. While no longer involved in Binance’s day-to-day operations, a spokesperson expressed excitement about what CZ may do next. Binance, now led by a new team, continues to thrive, serving over 230 million users globally.

Despite the legal troubles, CZ retains a majority ownership of Binance, holding an estimated 90% stake in the exchange.

Fortune claims that Binance founder CZ would be released from imprisonment today, September 27, two days ahead of his official release date. This is common when prisoners are freed to go early should their date of release fall on a weekend.

Arriving in the United States from Dubai to start serving a four-month term for failing to maintain sufficient anti-money laundering procedures at his bitcoin exchange, the man most known as Changpeng “CZ,” Zhao, has been in federal detention since April. Following two months in a minimum-security federal jail in the California desert, Binance founder CZ was sent to a halfway house in Long Beach. According to a Binance spokesman, Zhao went to a movie and has been let on supervised trips.

Once published, CZ is said to be taken away in a chauffeur-driven car straight to a private jet, perhaps headed for Dubai or Paris, supposedly where his children with his former spouse, Binance Senior Executive He Yi, live. Zhao is a majority shareholder and a board member with great impact inside the company, even if the plea agreement made between him and the US government forbids him from the daily operation of Binance.

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) will be released from prison on September 29, 2024, after serving a four-month prison sentence for failing to implement effective anti-money laundering controls at Binance. The conviction was part of a larger investigation by the US Department of Justice that resulted in Binance paying a massive $4.3 billion fine. Zhao himself paid an additional $50 million fine and agreed to step down as CEO in November 2023.

While CZ has been banned from holding any executive positions at Binance for life, he remains the company’s largest shareholder and can influence the company’s decisions through his board nominations. As for his future, Zhao has hinted at new ventures in areas such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology, and even mentioned that he was working on an autobiography during his prison sentence.

His release marks the end of this important chapter in his career, but the crypto world is keeping a close eye on what his next move will be, especially with his significant influence still evident on Binance.

BlockTower Capital CEO Ari Paul, in his statements about former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), claimed that CZ committed the same crime as former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) and criticized the difference in legal treatment of these two names. According to Paul, CZ committed crimes that violated the interests of individual investors just like SBF, but CZ got away with a lighter sentence.

Ari Paul accused CZ of using client funds for risky investments, deceiving individual investors, and facilitating money laundering for criminal organizations. Paul also claimed that the US government was trying to access critical documents as part of its investigations into Binance, and that these documents could reveal further abuse.

These statements came in response to CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju’s defense of CZ. Paul deepened his criticism of CZ, saying, “If the federal government so desires, CZ could be sentenced to life in prison.”

Might interest you: BlackRock’s Report: Bitcoin Shields Against Risks

Ki Young Ju, who opposed Paul’s accusations, stated that the US Department of Justice had accused CZ of aiding money laundering, not embezzling client funds, and that these accusations were not based on strong evidence. Ki Young Ju, who argued that the allegations based on the Reuters report were insufficient, emphasized that CZ had not received any legal conviction.

While Paul’s statements received widespread attention, some critics argued that it was illogical for a billionaire businessman like CZ to risk his empire to steal $30 billion. They also pointed out that since CZ also has clients in the UAE, he would also be subject to legal scrutiny there in the event of any corruption.
