The dYdX Foundation has bought back over 5 million DYDX tokens since April 2025. This buyback initiative uses 25% of protocol fees to reduce the token’s circulating supply and strengthen the dYdX ecosystem. The Foundation’s approach mirrors corporate stock buybacks and shows strong confidence in the project’s fundamentals.

How the DYDX Buyback Program Works

The buyback program began in April 2025 and is funded directly by trading fees from the decentralized exchange (DEX). Each quarter, the Foundation allocates a portion of its revenue to purchase DYDX tokens from the open market.

This strategy supports the token economy and channels growth back to the community. In addition, it helps balance rewards between traders, stakers, and protocol contributors.

The next phase will target an additional 1.12 million DYDX tokens. After each repurchase, the Foundation stakes most of the tokens through its Treasury SubDAO. This move limits liquidity and helps maintain a stable token economy.

DYDX Supply Continues to Shrink

So far, the program has removed 5.42 million DYDX tokens from circulation, according to data on buyback.dydx.trade. This steady reduction in supply has created a deflationary effect, which could support the DYDX price in the long term.

Furthermore, the buyback program encourages investor trust and signals that the project is focused on sustainable growth.

Main results of the buyback program include:

A lower circulating supply of DYDX

Stronger investor confidence

Higher staking participation

Long-term ecosystem sustainability

As a result, dYdX’s buyback model has become an example of financial discipline within the DeFi sector.

Buybacks Gain Popularity Across DeFi

More DeFi protocols are now adopting token buyback models to manage supply and reward loyal users. The dYdX Foundation stands out by redirecting a portion of trading fees toward its buyback plan. This transparent and consistent model strengthens the link between protocol success and token value.

Moreover, analysts believe that steady buybacks could help stabilize the DYDX price over time. However, external market conditions and global liquidity will still play a major role. In the long run, dYdX’s framework may become a reference point for sustainable token economics in decentralized governance.

In the crypto world, joining projects early can offer high-profit potential. A crypto launchpad provides investors access to new token or coin projects before public listing, allowing them to purchase tokens at lower prices and profit as their value increases. With the rise of blockchain technology, launchpad platforms have become a secure meeting point for investors and project founders.

What Is a Crypto Launchpad?

Sometimes referred to as a crypto incubator, a launchpad is a blockchain-based decentralized platform. Projects offer tokens to investors before going public.

Investors: Can buy tokens at lower prices and profit as their value grows.

Founders: Gain exposure and raise early-stage funding.

Trusted launchpads thoroughly review projects and only list approved ones. Investors usually verify their identity through KYC (Know Your Customer), reducing fraud risks and ensuring security.

How Does a Launchpad Work?

Launchpads act as a bridge between investors and projects. The general process includes:

Project Application & Evaluation: New projects apply, evaluated by security, team, and tech criteria.

Community & Promotion: Approved projects are promoted to potential investors.

Token Sale: Occurs via Allowlist, staking, or KYC participation.

Listing: After the sale, tokens become tradable on exchanges.

Launchpads enhance transparency and fairness, minimizing manipulation and ensuring balanced token distribution.

Types of Launchpads

IDO (Initial DEX Offering): Decentralized exchange token sales. Examples: FireStarter, BSCPad, Seedify, Polkastarter.

IEO (Initial Exchange Offering): Centralized exchange-based sales. Example: Binance Launchpad.

ICO (Initial Coin Offering): Independent token sale model, often older and riskier.

INO (Initial NFT Offering): NFT collection fundraising. Examples: Only1, Seedify.

IGO (Initial Game Offering): Gaming and metaverse token sales. Examples: Gamestarter, PlayPad.

How to Join a Launchpad?

Participation methods vary depending on the platform type:

Allowlist Application: Register for a chance to buy tokens.

Stake-to-Participate: Stake platform tokens for eligibility.

Lottery System: Random selection among stakers.

Guaranteed Allocation: Direct access based on staking amount.

Always review each platform’s participation rules carefully.

What Is a Crypto Presale?

A crypto presale offers tokens to early investors before the official launch, usually at lower prices. Investors gain early access and potential profit opportunities, while projects secure early funding and community backing. However, presales carry risk—token values can drop or projects may fail to deliver.

For Investors: Early access and potential gains.

For Projects: Fundraising and community building.

Trusted launchpads mitigate risks through due diligence and KYC verification.

Advantages of Using Launchpads:

Lower listing fees

Strong security and KYC

Supportive community

Disadvantages of Using Launchpads:

Price volatility

Launchpad vs. Launchpool

Though often confused, they serve different purposes:

Launchpad: Early token purchase for new projects (e.g., Binance Launchpad, Polkastarter).

Anatoly Yakovenko (Toly), co-founder of Solana, has reportedly been developing a new perpetual DEX on the Solana (SOL) blockchain. Recent code updates on GitHub indicate a notable innovation in the Solana ecosystem’s decentralized exchange (DEX) space. This development has sparked considerable interest among investors and the broader DeFi community.

Toly’s New Perpetual DEX Initiative

According to shared information, Yakovenko’s personal GitHub account hosts a newly discovered repository called “Percolator.” The repository description states, “A sharded perpetual exchange protocol for Solana,” suggesting the development of a continuous contract-based decentralized exchange protocol on Solana.

The project includes modules like Router Program and Slab Program, indicating a scalable DEX architecture designed for low-latency execution. While there is no official confirmation whether Yakovenko is directly a co-founder or lead developer of this DEX, developers and analysts in the SOL community interpret his active GitHub contributions as a strategic step for the Solana DeFi ecosystem.

GitHub Code Updates Draw Attention

Yakovenko’s commits under the username “aeyakovenko” include code related to perpetual trading mechanisms, liquidity pools, and match engine modules.
Contributors to the GitHub repository include aeyakovenko (Anatoly Yakovenko) and claude (Claude). This highlights Yakovenko’s active role in the development process and suggests the project may still be in a test phase.

Meanwhile, the BULK team recently raised $8 million in seed funding for another Solana-based perpetual DEX, with Yakovenko listed among the investors.

Many users and developers also view Toly’s initiative as the start of a new era of decentralized perpetual exchanges on Solana. However, until official announcements are made, the project should still be considered an early-stage initiative.

This filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) aims to raise $250 million.

The SPAC will be led by Palihapitiya as chairman, while Social Capital managing partner Steven Trieu will serve as CEO. The filing specifies the sale of 25 million shares at $10 each.
Although Palihapitiya long promoted Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation, he now emphasizes the integration of traditional finance with decentralized finance.
Palihapitiya’s SPAC History

Palihapitiya previously led multiple SPACs with mixed outcomes. Successful mergers include SoFi Technologies, while Social Capital Suvretta Holdings II, III, and IV were liquidated. Despite these results, the new SPAC targets four strategic sectors. DeFi and AI are seen as high-growth areas, whereas energy and defense meet rising global demand.

The SPAC’s name reflects Palihapitiya’s earlier statement that “crypto is dead in America.” Now, with American Exceptionalism Acquisition Corp A, he returns to the crypto space with a renewed strategic tool.
Overlay Protocol is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol that facilitates trading against market predictions and price fluctuations. The platform leverages on-chain data to provide a reliable, transparent, and decentralized trading infrastructure.

Users can perform leveraged trades on various assets that are not possible in traditional markets, utilize risk management tools, and earn rewards.
The OVL token is the native token of this system and is used as collateral. When a position is profitable, new OVL tokens are minted, and when it incurs a loss, tokens are burned to rebalance the system.
Key Investors and Partners:

Investors: Major crypto funds such as Pantera Capital, Alameda Research, and Blockchain Capital have invested in Balancer, signaling strong confidence in the project.

Strategic Partners: Integrations with DeFi giants like Aave and Gnosis Protocol enabled innovative features such as “Boosted Pools.” Balancer is also integrated with chains like Polygon zkEVM, Avalanche, and Base, strengthening its multichain strategy and broadening its user base.

Project Vision

Balancer’s core idea is to bring flexibility and customization to liquidity pools in decentralized finance (DeFi). Unlike traditional AMMs, Balancer allows for pools with unequal token ratios, offering broader use cases. This enables users to build diversified portfolios and perform more efficient swaps.

How the Project Works

The protocol is based on a system of pools where users can act as liquidity providers (LPs) and perform token swaps.

Pools: Smart contracts combining multiple tokens. These pools range from fixed-weight to dynamic-fee types.

Routers: Interfaces that simplify complex interactions with the Vault, making the user experience more accessible.

Vault: The central component that manages all token and liquidity activities. All pools operate on top of the Vault.

Roadmap

Balancer’s roadmap emphasizes continuous innovation. The launch of V3 is a key milestone. Future plans include:

More network integrations

New pool types

Enhanced decentralized governance

Past Milestones:

2020: Balancer launched and introduced weighted pools, allowing for flexible token ratios beyond the standard 50/50.

2021: Balancer V2 released with a single-vault architecture, lower gas fees, flexible pool types, and oracle integration.

2024 & Beyond: Balancer V3 introduced a modular structure with developer-friendly features like hooks and customizable pools.
