Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has announced that it will delist four digital assets — Alpaca Finance (ALPACA), PlayDapp (PDA), Viberate (VIB), and Wing Finance (WING) — effective May 2, 2025 at 03:00 (UTC).

This strategic move comes as part of Binance’s ongoing asset reviews, which evaluate listed tokens to ensure they meet evolving industry standards and user protection requirements.

Why the Delisting?

According to Binance, several factors influence the decision to delist a token, including:

Project team’s commitment and transparency

Development activity and code quality

Trading volume and liquidity

Network security and reliability

Regulatory compliance and tokenomics integrity

Evidence of unethical behavior or negligence

Community sentiment and engagement

While Binance did not cite specific reasons for each token’s removal, the delisting suggests these assets no longer align with the platform’s updated listing criteria.

Full Scope of Services Affected

The delisting will impact a wide range of Binance services:

Spot Trading: All trading pairs involving the four tokens will be removed on May 2. Orders will be automatically canceled.

Futures: Open positions will be closed and settled automatically by April 30.

Margin Trading: The tokens will be removed from both cross and isolated margin trading by April 30.

Simple Earn, Dual Investment, Copy Trading, and Mining Pool: All related services will cease support in the days leading up to May 2.

Withdrawals: Users can still withdraw the delisted tokens until July 4, 2025, after which automatic conversion to stablecoins may occur.

Binance encourages all users to review their positions, close any trades, and transfer their assets to avoid potential losses.

This move highlights Binance’s intent to uphold a high bar for project quality amid a shifting regulatory and technological landscape. Although it may cause disruption for holders of the affected tokens, Binance states that its priority remains user safety, transparency, and long-term ecosystem health.

A week full of economic data and developments that are closely related to crypto investors is starting. Binance’s delisting decisions, inflation data, and FED statements could stir the markets. Here are the details:

What to Expect in Crypto Markets This Week?

March 31 – Monday

Binance announced a delisting decision affecting European users. USDT, FDUSD, TUSD, USDP, DAI, EUR, UST, USTC, and PAXG trading pairs will be removed from the platform. This may impact traders dealing in stablecoins and altcoins.

Terraform Labs is launching a new platform for creditors amid its bankruptcy process. Investors who suffered losses from the Terra (LUNA) and TerraUSD (UST) collapse can submit claims through this platform.

April 1 – Tuesday

Beware of April Fools’ Day Hoaxes! Every year, false news and manipulative posts circulate in the crypto space on April 1. Avoid making investment decisions based on unverified information.

The annual Eurozone Inflation Rate (CPI) will be announced. Expected at 2.2%, previous was 2.3%. If the results differ from expectations, it could impact ECB’s interest rate decisions, affecting Euro pairs and crypto volatility.

FED will slow down its balance sheet reduction. This could inject more liquidity into markets, potentially benefiting risk assets.

You Might Be Interested In: Elon Musk Talks About the Name of a New Memecoin!

April 2 – Wednesday

Donald Trump recently stated, “People will receive a pleasant surprise on April 2.” Given the election year and Trump’s crypto-friendly stance, this has sparked speculation in the crypto community.

PORTAL is set to make a major announcement. PORTAL develops solutions for DeFi and the gaming ecosystem. This announcement could impact the project’s ecosystem and token price.

April 3 – Thursday

Turkey’s Annual CPI will be announced. Expected at 38.9%, previous was 39.05%. A high inflation rate could influence CBRT’s interest rate policies and investment decisions.

US Jobless Claims data will be released. Expected at 227K, previous was 224K. Since employment data plays a crucial role in FED’s economic assessment, this could lead to market fluctuations.

April 4 – Friday

Binance announced that it will be delisting several spot trading pairs starting on November 22, 2024, at 03:00 UTC. The following pairs will be removed: DAR/BTC, IRIS/BTC, RARE/BRL, THETA/ETH, and UTK/BTC. This decision comes after a periodic review of the listed pairs, considering factors like poor liquidity and low trading volume.

It’s important to note that the tokens in these pairs will still be available for trading on other pairs on Binance, but users should be aware that the Spot Trading Bots services for these pairs will also be terminated at the same time. Binance advises users to update or cancel their Spot Trading Bots to avoid potential losses before the cessation of these services.

This delisting process is a part of Binance’s ongoing efforts to maintain a high-quality trading environment for its users. While the removal of pairs may cause some inconvenience, it reflects Binance’s commitment to offering the best trading conditions possible.
