The report directly influences the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decisions, the global trajectory of the US dollar, US bond yields, and the direction of risky assets. Core inflation, in particular, helps measure underlying demand pressures. 

Market participants are reassessing rate cut expectations following the announcement. Meanwhile, cryptocurrencies, gold, and stocks are being priced according to these developments. The annual CPI came in slightly above expectations at 2.7%. The monthly CPI matched expectations at 0.3%.
