Former Ethereum core developer Eric Connor believes Ethereum is uniquely positioned to transform artificial intelligence. In an April 15 post on X, Connor claimed Ethereum’s “biggest mainstream moment is waiting in the wings with AI.”

He pointed out that while AI is rapidly advancing, it is facing significant challenges such as opaque black-box models, centralized data silos, and privacy risks. These issues, Connor says, create a unique opportunity for Ethereum to provide solutions.

A Natural Fit for Ethical AI Development

Ethereum’s verifiable smart contracts, decentralized architecture, token-based incentives, and micropayment infrastructure can offer the transparency and fairness AI needs. Connor believes that smart contracts could document AI training data and processes in a tamper-proof way, helping to fix AI’s trust issues.

You Might Be Interested In: Elon Musk Talks About the Name of a New Memecoin!

However, major tech firms may resist open models because “they profit from secrecy and control.” As demand for transparency and fairness grows, Ethereum offers a trust-minimized, open alternative.

“Ethereum already has the ethos: openness, collaboration, and trust minimization — all essential for ethical and accountable AI,” he wrote.

Agentic AI on Ethereum

According to a recent Ethereum Foundation blog post, AI agents — autonomous programs capable of learning, deciding, and adapting — are becoming increasingly common on Ethereum.

Ethereum gives these agents access to real-time blockchain data, true asset ownership, and the ability to interact with smart contracts. This creates a decentralized environment for emerging AI applications.

Notable Projects: Luna, AIXBT, and Botto

Luna: A self-sovereign virtual influencer managing its own onchain wallet.

AIXBT: An AI agent offering crypto market analytics.

Botto: A decentralized autonomous artist creating NFTs based on community input.

Other tools like Bankr and HeyAnon aim to simplify Web3 by enabling blockchain interactions via chat-based interfaces.
