In a post on X (Twitter), GMGN co-founder Haze revealed that the platform has been subjected to multiple DDoS attacks in the past. Stating that he had previously avoided making direct statements about such attacks, Haze said that he did not raise the issue because he did not know who was responsible. However, he said that after seeing one of his competitors bring up these attacks, he decided it was time to share this issue.

It also noted that there were not only DDoS attacks, but also a large-scale malicious attack on GMGN’s Telegram (TG) bot, registering tens of thousands of fake accounts.

Security Measures and Status of User Assets on the Platform

Haze stated that despite the attacks, user assets are 100% secure and the website is healthy . Emphasizing that malicious accounts were completely banned in this process, the co-founder said that the attacks did not jeopardize the security of the platform.

Stating that the company has created an infrastructure resistant to attacks, Haze stated that the GMGN team has maximized security measures. He explained that the system has been strengthened especially against DDoS attacks and that user funds are not at any risk.

GMGN’s Priority will be User Services

Haze said he thinks the GMGN team should focus all its energy on providing the best service to users. “We believe that we should always put all our energy into serving our users. We do not accept bad and unethical ways”, he said, emphasizing that the platform operates within the framework of ethical principles.

Haze stated that GMGN aims to further increase security and create stronger defense mechanisms against such attacks in the future, and that protecting users’ trust in the platform is among its primary goals.

Recently, many cryptocurrency platforms have been facing similar DDoS attacks and bot-based spam attacks. The fact that GMGN is also struggling with these attacks shows that security measures are becoming more and more important in the industry.
