The cryptocurrency market is once again facing renewed concerns over the potential threats posed by quantum computing. Following Google’s announcement of its new “Willow” quantum chip, analysts have raised alarms about the long-term security of Bitcoin (BTC). Experts suggest that advances in quantum technology could compromise current cryptographic systems, potentially leading to the largest bear market in Bitcoin’s history.

The Quantum Threat to Bitcoin

Quantum computers are poised to revolutionize technology and finance with unprecedented computational power. Yet this progress also introduces significant risks for digital assets. Bitcoin’s security infrastructure relies on complex encryption algorithms, which are currently considered unbreakable. Should quantum computers reach the capability to crack these algorithms, billions of dollars in digital assets could be at risk.

Google’s Willow chip has reignited discussions in the crypto community. This next-generation chip reportedly offers far greater processing capacity compared to existing technologies, raising concerns that it could mark a turning point for digital asset security.

Insights from Analyst Charles Edwards

Prominent crypto analyst Charles Edwards recently shared his perspective on Bitcoin’s future. He noted that while he previously believed that future Bitcoin bear markets would be less severe, the rise of quantum computing has completely altered his view.

Edwards warns that if the industry fails to implement protective measures in time, Bitcoin could face its “largest bear market ever.” He estimates that quantum computers could achieve the power to break Bitcoin’s current encryption within the next 2 to 8 years. According to Edwards, the clock is ticking for the crypto ecosystem to prepare for this potential disruption.

Preparing for a New Era in Crypto Security

While the advancement of quantum technology is inevitable, it poses a serious challenge for the crypto industry. Experts emphasize the urgency for Bitcoin developers to accelerate the development of quantum-resistant cryptography.

If these updates are not implemented promptly, the repercussions could extend beyond Bitcoin, potentially destabilizing the broader cryptocurrency market. For now, the industry remains vigilant, closely monitoring the evolution of quantum computing and its implications for digital asset security.

A major step has been taken in the DeFi world. Jupiter Wallet for Desktop has been announced as the most advanced desktop wallet in the Solana ecosystem. Building on its success in mobile, Jupiter now aims to offer users an experience that is both simple and professional.

Jupiter Wallet for Desktop: Features

The new wallet application brings together the most essential features in one place:

Gasless transactions

Deep integration with Jupiter products

Built-in PnL (profit and loss) analysis

10x lower fees compared to competitors

Jupiter Sync: Easy Synchronization

Switching between wallets is now much easier. With Jupiter Sync, users can synchronize between desktop and mobile wallets simply by scanning a QR code.

Thanks to this feature, wallets can be managed securely without having to enter a seed phrase.

Ultra Infrastructure for Lower Fees

While many wallets charge transaction fees of up to 1.5%, Jupiter Wallet, powered by Ultra, offers fees as low as 0.1%.

In addition, users benefit from:

Juno routing for the best prices and lowest slippage

Optimized transaction landing

MEV protection

Gasless support

All designed to deliver a top-tier experience.

Deep Integration and Fast Transactions

From swaps to perpetual trading, lending protocols to auto-approve transactions, Jupiter Wallet is fully integrated with all Jupiter products. This allows users to access the entire ecosystem quickly through a single wallet.

Advanced PnL Analysis

Performance tracking, crucial for professional traders, is now built directly into the wallet. Users can view detailed PnL analysis by wallet and token, tracking their full history from a single dashboard.

No more spreadsheets, no more guessing—just precise data-driven insights.

Security and Hardware Wallet Support

Security lies at the core of the application. Audited by Offside Labs, Jupiter Wallet also supports major hardware wallets. Users can securely connect Ledger, Trezor, and Keystone devices.

Create a Wallet with Social Accounts

For newcomers, one of the most notable features is social login wallet creation. By signing in with Google, Apple, Discord, or X, users can create a wallet within seconds.

This eliminates the risk of losing a seed phrase altogether.

The rapid growth of AI-driven commerce is reshaping how technology companies approach payments and automation. One of the most significant steps in this evolution is the collaboration between Sui Network (SUI), Mysten Labs, and Google on the Agentic Payments Protocol (AP2). This partnership is designed to enable AI agents to carry out secure, programmable transactions on behalf of users.

Mysten Labs and the Vision Behind Sui

Founded with the goal of building faster, safer, and more scalable blockchain infrastructure, Mysten Labs has quickly become a prominent player in the Web3 ecosystem. Its flagship project, Sui Network, was developed to offer:

Scalability capable of supporting global-level commerce

Low-cost transactions ideal for high-frequency usage

Privacy-first identity solutions tailored for both individuals and AI-driven systems

Sui is not just another blockchain; it is designed to be the foundation of agentic commerce. By combining programmability, speed, and security, Sui enables AI agents to operate in real-world trade scenarios—something that traditional blockchains and current internet systems struggle to handle effectively.

Sui is a launch partner for @Google’s new Agentic Payments Protocol (AP2) – a standard that lets AI agents transact on behalf of users.

Originally developed by Mysten Labs, @SuiNetwork brings fast, programmable payments and privacy-first identity to power the future of agentic… pic.twitter.com/YFfGfLUZvf

— MystenLabs.sui (@Mysten_Labs) September 16, 2025

Enabling AI Agents with AP2

While Sui provides the infrastructure, Google’s Agentic Payments Protocol (AP2) introduces the framework to standardize how AI agents initiate and complete payments. The goal is simple yet ambitious: create a trusted system where AI can handle commerce autonomously without sacrificing authorization, authenticity, or accountability.

Currently, the web is:

Friendly for humans who browse and act

Semi-friendly for bots that read

Unfriendly for bots that act

This is where the Sui + AP2 synergy becomes essential. Together, they enable AI agents to securely handle tasks like shopping, subscription payments, and automated purchases in ways that were previously impossible.

Why a New Protocol Matters

AI agents are increasingly capable of taking actions on behalf of users, but this raises fundamental questions:

Authorization: How do we ensure an agent truly has the user’s permission to transact?

Authenticity: How can merchants confirm the transaction reflects the user’s actual intent?

Accountability: Who is responsible if something goes wrong?

AP2 provides answers by creating a shared standard that integrates multiple payment types—including credit cards, bank transfers, and even stablecoins. By doing so, it prevents fragmentation and establishes a consistent foundation for AI commerce.

The Role of Sui in Agentic Commerce

What makes this partnership especially powerful is Sui’s role as the programmable backbone of AI commerce. Mysten Labs designed Sui to support verifiable transactions, seamless automation, and scalable systems that can grow alongside the adoption of AI agents.

By joining Google’s AP2 initiative, Sui demonstrates its strength as a next-generation blockchain—capable of bridging the gap between artificial intelligence, digital identity, and global financial systems.

Google Cloud has unveiled a new generation payment plan project to the public with GCUL. This payment system aims to make global money transfers more efficient thanks to its programmable and permissioned structure. In addition to being efficient, it stands out with faster capital market transactions. This move particularly emphasises that digital finance and stablecoin-based payment systems will reach a more institutional level. On 27 August 2025, Google published a project on its website that concerns the entire crypto world. The name of the project is Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL).

What is Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL)?

GCUL, which is still in the test network phase, is a Layer-1 Blockchain-based system. This system has been developed specifically to facilitate cross-border payments globally. It also aims to simplify asset settlements. CME has signed a trial partnership in the field of tokenised assets in the first quarter of the year.

Considering all these developments, many cryptocurrency communities are debating GCUL’s permissioned and centralised structure. However, Google aims to position the project not as decentralised but based on a more institutional framework. It is working towards creating a more efficient infrastructure for this purpose.

New Developments in International Payment Systems

Until now, cross-border payments in the international arena have been carried out through banks and remittance networks. However, thanks to new generation systems developed in recent years, it is now possible to make higher-value payments from wallet to wallet within seconds. In fact, stablecoin transactions are projected to exceed $5 trillion by 2024. The fact that traditional payment systems are much slower and more costly than new generation methods makes these innovations even more prominent. In this regard, Google’s GCUL project aims to take developments in this area to a more corporate level.

Google Cloud aims to run payment and asset systems through a single system or even a ledger. Accordingly, it can be emphasised that the operational load will be significantly reduced. Both the reduction in risk and the simplification of regulatory processes can be considered significant advantages. At the same time, organisations can continue to operate using their own brands. In addition, the fact that the system running in the background is programmable can be considered a major advantage. With this step, Google has filled a very important gap.

Features that Distinguish GCUL from Traditional Open Blockchains

GCUL has a different structure from today’s traditional blockchains. Most importantly, it should be noted that it has a permissioned structure. KYC, compliance, and account opening have been synchronised with the centre of this design. In addition, corporate users are supported by Google in terms of both data privacy and business security.

When considering the advantages of GCUL, multi-currency and asset support stand out. In addition, it offers the advantage of being able to trade different currencies as well as tokenised assets via API. Payment and asset delivery also occur simultaneously during this process. This minimises the risks for all parties. Programmable flows can also be considered one of the system’s most significant advantages. This is because it makes the use of machines in capital markets even more feasible.

Bitcoin has overtaken Google in market capitalization, becoming the fifth-largest asset in the world. This major milestone reflects a year-long bullish trend shaped by a friendlier regulatory environment under President Donald Trump and the rapid adoption of corporate treasury strategies focused on bitcoin accumulation.

Record-Breaking Rally

On Wednesday, BTC broke its previous all-time high, moving in tandem with U.S. stock market gains. In Asian trading, the price climbed above $124,000, surpassing the July 14 peak of $123,205 before a brief round of profit-taking. On the same day, the S&P 500 index also recorded its second consecutive all-time high, showing that both equities and crypto assets are benefiting from the same positive macro backdrop.

With this rally, bitcoin’s market cap has reached $2.46 trillion, overtaking Google’s $2.4 trillion valuation. Ethereum remains the second-largest cryptocurrency, with a market capitalization of around $575 billion.3

Corporate Bitcoin and Ethereum Treasury Strategies

Led by Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy pioneered the strategy of adding bitcoin to corporate balance sheets. This approach is now being adopted by smaller publicly traded companies, while Ethereum advocates are also starting to follow suit.

Macro Factors and Technical Outlook

U.S. inflation data came in line with expectations, boosting market bets that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in September. Lower borrowing costs tend to increase demand for risk assets, positively impacting the crypto market.

Technical analysts note that if bitcoin can hold above the $120,000 level, the next upside target could be in the $135,000–$138,000 range.

Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has requested Apple and Google to suspend the downloads of five unregistered cryptocurrency exchange apps. The FSA clarified that this move is not about shutting down crypto investments but about drawing a line for non-compliant exchanges.

The FSA has targeted five exchanges, including Dubai-based Bybit Fintech, Singapore-based MEXC Global, LBank Exchange, Seychelles-based KuCoin, and Singapore-based Bitget. On February 6, Apple removed these apps from the App Store, preventing Japanese users from downloading them.

Japan’s Cautious Approach to Crypto

Japan has adopted one of the most cautious stances towards cryptocurrencies among Asian markets. While Hong Kong has approved the first spot Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETFs), Japanese regulators remain wary of the volatility and risks associated with crypto ETFs.

The FSA’s action should not be seen as a crackdown on retail crypto investment. Anndy Lian told Cointelegraph, “This isn’t about shutting down crypto investing. It’s about saying, ‘If you want to operate in our market, you must play by our rules.'”

New Tax Reform and Investor Protection

This regulatory move comes after the announcement of a new tax reform for 2025, which will treat crypto assets like traditional financial assets.

Lian emphasized that Japan’s regulatory approach is not an attack on crypto but a measure for investor protection and accountability. He pointed out that after the Mt. Gox hack in 2014, which caused massive losses, Japan has focused on tightening regulations to prevent such incidents. The Mt. Gox collapse resulted in a loss of $9.4 billion for over 127,000 investors.

The U.S. Department of Justice has accused a former Google engineer of economic espionage, alleging that he stole the company’s AI trade secrets.

According to the 14-count indictment, Linwei (Leon) Ding uploaded over 1,000 confidential Google files to his personal Google Cloud account between May 2022 and May 2023. These files allegedly contained critical information about Google’s hardware infrastructure and software platform that supports the company’s AI supercomputing systems.

Secret Ties with Chinese Companies

Ding, who worked as a software engineer at Google since 2019, allegedly developed covert affiliations with Chinese tech firms as early as 2022.

The DOJ claims Ding stole sensitive details about Google’s custom-designed SmartNIC, Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) chips and systems.

According to court documents, Ding began discussions with the chief technology officer of a Chinese technology company in June 2022. By May 2023, he had secretly founded his own AI and machine-learning company in China, where he served as CEO.

A Threat from Within Google!

U.S. officials allege that Ding created PowerPoint presentations for employees of his Chinese company, referencing China’s national policies and talent programs with statements such as:

“This will help China achieve computing power infrastructure capabilities on par with the international level.”

The case is currently being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Ding was first indicted in March 2024 on four counts of trade secret theft.

Now, facing seven counts of economic espionage and seven counts of trade secret theft, Ding could be sentenced to 175 years in prison and fined up to $36.75 million if convicted. However, the final sentence will depend on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal considerations.

Global trade is moving fast, but this time, it’s not excitement—it’s tension. The world’s two economic giants, China and the U.S., are on the brink of a new trade war. China has launched an investigation into Google while imposing export controls and tariffs on key U.S. industries.

China’s Strategic Move: Restrictions on Critical Metal Exports

At the break of dawn, Beijing made a major announcement: export restrictions on 25 rare metal products and technologies! Tungsten, tellurium, molybdenum, bismuth, and indium are essential elements for many industries worldwide. Without these, electric vehicles, semiconductors, and military technologies could face serious disruptions.

This move serves as a warning to Western companies: never underestimate the innovation power of Chinese engineers and scientists!

Google Under Investigation: Accused of Monopoly Practices

But China’s strategy isn’t just about export restrictions. The State Administration for Market Regulation has launched an official investigation against Google for allegedly violating China’s Anti-Monopoly Law. This is seen as a reflection of China’s efforts to strengthen its technological independence.

You Might Be Interested In: Elon Musk Talks About the Name of a New Memecoin!

And Google is not alone! U.S.-based companies PVH and Illumina are also under scrutiny and could face sanctions.

Heavy Tariffs on the U.S.: Trade Balance in Turmoil

It remains to be seen how Washington will respond to these developments, but China’s new tariff measures could put several U.S. industries under pressure.

A 15% tariff on coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

A 10% tariff on crude oil, agricultural machinery, and large-volume automobiles.

These actions signal a major shake-up in global markets. China’s latest moves are not just trade war tactics but strategic steps shaping the future of the global economic order.

How will the U.S. respond? Is the trade war entering its next phase? The world is watching, holding its breath…

Trump’s Trade Wars: What does it mean and how are they affecting the global economy?

When Trump began his presidency in 2017, he took a firm stance against trade partners with the aim of reducing the U.S. trade deficit and boosting American manufacturing. His policies, particularly those targeting China, led to a series of tariffs and trade barriers that began to affect the global economy. This process marked the first significant phase of the trade wars, which were expected to have long-term effects.

The Beginning of Trump’s Trade Wars

The most prominent feature of the trade wars was the high tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on China. Trump considered China’s trade practices “unfair” and harmful to the U.S. economy. As a result, in 2018, high tariffs were placed on products imported from China. For example, tariffs on products like steel and aluminum were raised up to 25%. In retaliation, China imposed similar tariffs on U.S. products. These reciprocal tariffs shook the global trade balances and caused disruptions in supply chains worldwide.

China and Other Countries’ Responses

China escalated the trade war in response to these moves by imposing tariffs on key U.S. exports, such as soybeans, cars, and aircraft. In retaliation to Trump’s aggressive trade policies, China made these counteractions on the international stage. However, the trade war did not just affect the U.S. and China; it impacted many other countries around the world as well. Notably, trade partners like Canada protested the tariff increases imposed by the U.S. and took countermeasures in return.

The 2024 Election and Trump’s Revival of the Trade War

After winning the 2024 presidential election, Trump reignited the trade war and further solidified his tough stance on global trade relations. Following the election, he imposed new tariffs on goods imported from trade partners such as China, Canada, and Mexico.

A 25% tariff was applied to goods from Canada and Mexico, while a 10% tariff was imposed on goods from China. This move caused the trade war to intensify once again, leaving global trade in a state of uncertainty.

With these actions, Trump aimed to narrow the U.S. trade deficit further and stimulate American manufacturing. However, this policy disrupted global supply chains, causing economic ripples in other countries as well.

Reactions and Retaliations from Other Countries

In response to Trump’s new measures in 2024, countries like China, Canada, and Mexico reacted to the newly imposed tariffs. China, in particular, retaliated by placing new tariffs on U.S. products. Additionally, the European Union was contemplating a counteraction to Trump’s escalated trade war. Canada and Mexico, similarly, increased their tariffs on U.S. goods in retaliation.

The AI War: A New Front in Global Trade

Trump’s trade wars extended beyond traditional trade to significantly impact the field of artificial intelligence (AI). As the U.S. competed with China over AI technologies, new platforms like DeepSeek were launched, shaping the future of global trade. DeepSeek developed a low-cost technology capable of competing with giants like OpenAI and Google, threatening Nvidia’s dominance.

DeepSeek‘s success caused Nvidia’s stock to drop by 17%. Furthermore, this development also impacted the energy sector, as more efficient AI technologies reduced energy consumption, leading to a slowdown in demand within the sector.

Trump‘s post-election trade decisions further fueled this AI war. New tariffs on China and pressures on tech companies created tension in global trade and digital warfare. These developments also affected financial markets and the cryptocurrency sector, leading to major shifts in investment strategies and global markets.

Impact of the Trade War on Markets

Trump’s aggressive tariffs and retaliations not only impacted global trade but also financial markets. The cryptocurrency market, in particular, saw significant losses due to the effects of the trade war. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), for example, lost considerable value, with Bitcoin dropping from $106,000 to below $90,000, marking a 15.09% decline. This loss triggered panic among investors, leading to significant liquidations in the crypto markets. Furthermore, the economic uncertainty caused by the trade wars led to a contraction in global trade and a slowdown in economic growth.

After Trump’s victory in 2024, the trade policies he implemented reshaped global trade. Reactions and counter-retaliations from trade partners like China, Canada, and Mexico escalated the trade war. The effects of the trade war were not limited to traditional markets but also impacted digital assets such as cryptocurrencies.

Trump’s trade war deeply affected global trade and financial markets, raising economic uncertainty and causing disruptions in global supply chains.
