Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, admitted guilt last month to anti-money laundering and sanction violations after years of investigations by federal regulators. In conjunction, Binance agreed to a $4.3 billion settlement, one of the largest corporate deals in history. Additionally, Zhao accepted a $50 million fine and resigned from the CEO position.

Last week, CZ resigned as the Chairman of the board of Binance.US, effectively eliminating his influence on Binance.US’s management and reducing the exchange’s interest in the U.S. to a purely economic one.

Since stepping down as Binance CEO and admitting guilt, CZ has remained active on the social media platform X. Last week, he had a lunch meeting with the new Binance CEO, Richard Teng, discussing topics like taking risks and the overall situation of the company.
