Built by Jump Crypto, the much-awaited and highly expected ‘Firedancer‘ independent validator client for the Solana blockchain will shortly start its first bug bounty program.

Announced by pseudonymous creator Cantelope Peel, the initiative runs for six weeks, starting on July 10. Driven by Immunefi, the program will provide a maximum of $1 million to engineers discovering major flaws in the first version of the client, Firedancer v0.1, sometimes known as “Frankendancer.”

Cantelope Peel, who posted on X that “millions of slots of execution have been tested and match the Solana protocol,” reports that work on Firedancer seems to be moving very nicely.

The Firedancer client is aimed at increasing Solana’s resilience since any faults with the present client count could cause major blockchain troubles. Additionally implemented in C/C++ is Firedancer, which maximizes the client for the high-frequency trading Jump is known for.

“Given Solana’s success, our participation in the ecosystem over a couple years, and the very specific technical challenges that they wanted to solve as pertains to optimizing their network and runtime, (Firedancer) felt like a really great opportunity for us to come in and contribute,” Jump Crypto president Kanav Kariya said.

Wormhole facilitates data transfer between different blockchains, playing a crucial role in communication within the Web3 world. In this article, we will delve into Wormhole: what it is, how it works, and its goals.

You might like: South Korea Web3 Giant, Under Review!

What is Wormhole?

Wormhole is a general message passing protocol that enables communication between different blockchains. It facilitates the transfer of tokens, NFTs, and data, allowing smart contracts and applications built on blockchains to interact with each other and provide cross-chain functionality. Wormhole aims to enhance interoperability in the crypto world and offer new opportunities to its users.

Wormhole is not a blockchain or token bridge. It provides a communication medium between blockchains and offers protocols that serve this purpose.

Features of Wormhole:

Cross-chain bridge: Wormhole acts as a portal bridge that allows the transfer of tokens, NFTs, and data between different blockchains. For example, it enables seamless value transfer between Ethereum and Solana.

Ecosystem partners: Wormhole collaborates with numerous blockchains to expand the cross-chain liquidity ecosystem. It also integrates with dApps like Phantom, Sabre, and Pendle.

Governance layer: Wormhole has a governance layer supported by its native token W. W is required to use Wormhole’s services, participate in governance, and earn rewards.

Supported blockchains: Wormhole currently supports 72 major networks, including Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Solana.

Team Members:

The Wormhole team was founded by developers within Jump Crypto but later separated from Jump Crypto to become an independent foundation. The team, consisting of around 10 individuals, includes:

Dan Reecer: COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Wormhole Foundation and former marketing director of Acala Network.

Robinson Burkey: Commercial Director of Wormhole Foundation. Previously worked at Jump Crypto.

Tokenomics:

W has a total supply of 10 billion, with an initial circulating supply of 1.8 billion. It can be transferred to any network that Wormhole is connected to using Solana SPL and Ethereum ERC20. W is distributed among the following categories:

Community: 17% (1.7 billion W) is allocated to Wormhole’s users, developers, and supporters. 11% of this (1.1 billion W) will be distributed to the community as an airdrop.

Foundation: 23% (2.3 billion W) will be used by the Wormhole Foundation for the development, growth, and sustainability of the platform.

Jump Crypto and Terraform Labs surprising event! A federal judge has accepted the documents submitted by Terraform Labs’ in the case brought against by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission Jump Crypto Holdings.

As a result of an application that took place on November 28 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Judge Jed Rakoff approved the confidentiality of specific materials produced by Jump Crypto Holdings, the crypto unit of Jump Trading.

The company is reportedly being investigated by the SEC on allegations that it caused one of the significant events leading to the crypto market downturn in 2022, the collapse of TerraUSD (UST), and the breakdown of the Terra ecosystem.

In the application, it was stated, “The court will retain the authority to disclose any confidential material concerning future actions or hearings. “If such a disclosure becomes necessary, the Court will give prior notice to Jump’s lawyers so that they will have the opportunity to object.”

Before the collapse of Terra,’ Jump Crypto had significantly contributed to the ecosystem of the company and participated in fundraising rounds to create an alleged UST reserve.

In May, investors filed a lawsuit against Jump Trading, alleging that the company and its CEO Kanav Kariya manipulated the price of UST and made a profit of approximately 1.3 billion dollars. These claims have overshadowed Jump Crypto’s previous positive contributions and seriously damaged the company’s reputation.

In February, the SEC sued Terraform Labs’ and its founding partner Do Kwon with the accusation of “orchestrating a multi-billion-dollar crypto asset securities fraud. The case was ongoing at the time of publication, but both the SEC and Kwon and Terraform Labs accelerated the court process by submitting their petitions for summary judgment in October.
