]]> Tether has launched its flagship stablecoin, USDt, on the Kaia blockchain in a major collaboration with LINE NEXT, the Web3 arm of Japan’s popular messaging app LINE, which boasts over 196 million monthly active users across Asia.

The integration allows USDt to be used within LINE’s messenger-based Mini DApp ecosystem and its self-custodial wallet, enabling users to transact with stablecoins in an interface they use every day.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino commented, “Thanks to LINE NEXT’s blockchain infrastructure, over 200 million users can now easily engage with digital assets in daily life.” He added, “Our expansion to Kaia highlights our commitment to drive stablecoin adoption across Asia.”

Fast and Seamless USDt Transfers

Initially, users will earn mission-based USDt rewards and send peer-to-peer USDt transfers via LINE’s in-app wallet. The functionality is expected to expand to other layers of the LINE ecosystem in future phases.

The Kaia blockchain, known for low latency and instant finality, provides an ideal environment for stablecoin activity. Sam Seo, chair of the Kaia DLT Foundation, stated that the collaboration aims to deliver “the fastest, easiest, and most reliable USDt experience” to users across LINE, DeFi platforms, and centralized exchanges.

LINE NEXT CEO Youngsu Ko emphasized that this move creates a “dollar-based gateway” for users, making Web3 services more accessible in everyday life.

Tether’s USDt remains the largest stablecoin by market capitalization with over 149.4 billion tokens in circulation. On May 5, Tether minted $1 billion USDt on the Tron network, bringing its supply there to $71.4 billion. The Ethereum network currently holds $72.8 billion USDt.

On May 6, Tether also partnered with Chainalysis to integrate compliance and monitoring tools into its tokenization platform, aligning with the growing regulatory scrutiny in the crypto industry.

]]> Binance Futures has announced the launch of KAIAUSDT and AEROUSDT perpetual contracts with up to 75x leverage, aiming to expand trading options and enhance user experience. The contracts will go live on December 4, 2024. The KAIAUSDT contract will begin trading at 14:00 (UTC), followed by the AEROUSDT contract at 14:15 (UTC).

These contracts will settle in USDT and are subject to a maximum funding rate of +2.00% / -2.00%, with funding fees settled every four hours. Trading will be available 24/7, and users can leverage up to 75x. Additionally, the Multi-Assets Mode allows users to use assets like BTC as collateral for trading these perpetual contracts.

Binance noted that contract specifications such as funding fees, leverage limits, and margin requirements may be adjusted based on market conditions. The contracts are governed by the Binance Terms of Use and the Binance Futures Service Agreement.
