Following the hack of Tron’s official X account, tensions have risen between Tron founder Justin Sun and crypto exchange OKX. Sun claimed OKX failed to act on a law enforcement request to freeze stolen funds, but OKX CEO Star Xu fired back strongly.

“OKX cannot freeze a customer’s funds based on a personal X post or verbal communication. We follow legal consumer protection policies. As a CEO yourself, you should understand this,” Xu said. He added that no such request had been received via official channels. “Our LE team checked all inboxes — including spam. No request related to this case was found,” Xu stated.

Tron DAO Confirms Account Breach

On May 3, Tron DAO informed its 1.7 million followers that the organization’s X account was compromised. The hacker reportedly shared a malicious smart contract address, sent suspicious DMs, and followed random accounts.

Sun claimed, “These stolen funds are not mine. I’m acting to protect the community.” His original post, which accused OKX of negligence, was later deleted. Xu responded by asking Sun to publicly share a screenshot of the alleged law enforcement request.

Crypto Twitter Faces Wave of Hacks

The Tron incident follows a series of high-profile security breaches targeting crypto accounts on X. On March 15, Kaito AI and its founder Yu Hu were hacked; attackers shorted KAITO tokens and posted fake security alerts.

Earlier on February 26, Pump.fun’s X account was hijacked to promote a fraudulent governance token. On April 15, UK MP Lucy Powell also had her account compromised to push a scam crypto coin.

In several now-deleted posts, hackers falsely claimed that Kaito wallets had been compromised and warned users that their funds were no longer safe. However, the Kaito AI team quickly regained control of the accounts and reassured users that Kaito token wallets were unaffected by the breach.

KAITO Token Price Drops!

According to DeFi Warhol, the attackers opened short positions on KAITO tokens before spreading the false information. The goal was to trigger panic selling and cause a price crash, allowing the hackers to profit from their short positions.

You Might Be Interested In: Elon Musk Talks About the Name of a New Memecoin!

The Kaito AI team addressed the incident with the following statement:

“Despite having high-standard security measures in place, we were still compromised. It seems to be similar to other recent X account hacks.”

Rising Cyber Threats in the Crypto Industry!

This incident adds to a growing list of social media hacks, social engineering scams, and cybersecurity concerns within the crypto space. In recent weeks, the Pump.fun and Jupiter DAO accounts were also compromised using similar tactics.

Additionally, Canada’s Alberta Securities Commission issued a warning about the CanCap scam, where malicious actors used fake news and fabricated endorsements from Canadian politicians to promote fraudulent crypto investments. The scammers exploited concerns over a potential trade war between Canada and the United States to lure investors.

Lazarus Group Strikes Again!

State-sponsored hacker group Lazarus has also launched a new scam. They pose as venture capitalists in Zoom meetings and claim to experience audio-visual issues. Victims are then redirected to malicious chatrooms where they are instructed to download a “patch.” This software is designed to steal private crypto keys and other sensitive data from the victim’s device.

Kaito AI has allocated approximately 20% of its total token supply for future airdrops and incentives, sparking significant interest within the crypto community. However, this move has also raised concerns regarding insider allocations and potential sell-off pressure.

Following the airdrop announcement, Binance officially announced the listing of Kaito (KAITO) token on February 20. After being listed on Binance, KAITO surged to the $1 level.

Airdrop and Token Allocation

Positioning itself as the “ultimate Web3 information platform,” Kaito AI is gearing up for its first airdrop event. In this phase, 10% of the total supply has been allocated to early community members and ecosystem participants.

On February 20, the platform shared the following statement on X:

“Initial Community and Ecosystem Claim – 10%. This allocation includes the initial Kaito Yapper community, Genesis NFT holders, and ecosystem partners.”

Additionally, 56.6% of the total supply is allocated to the community and ecosystem, with 19.5% specifically reserved for long-term airdrops and incentives.

Binance Listing and Price Movement

Binance listed KAITO with the KAITO/USDT, KAITO/BTC, and KAITO/ETH trading pairs, leading to a rapid price surge to $1.

You Might Be Interested In: Elon Musk Talks About the Name of a New Memecoin!

While a Binance listing often boosts a project’s liquidity, initial selling pressure is common, especially for airdrop-based projects.

Tokenomics Concerns and Sell-Off Pressure!

Some analysts believe that the large insider allocation in the tokenomics could lead to selling pressure after the airdrop. Marcin Kazmierczak, co-founder of RedStone, a blockchain oracle firm, highlighted Kaito’s impact on the crypto marketing industry:

“I don’t know a single serious crypto marketer who doesn’t use Kaito’s stack. Previously, marketing was all about views and impressions. However, Kaito introduced a new metric, ‘Smart Followers,’ which allows tracking how many respected or active crypto accounts interacted with or followed a specific account.”

However, on-chain investigator RunnerXBT revealed that 43.3% of the total supply is allocated to insiders, including 35% to the team and 8.3% to early investors. This raises concerns about the long-term price movement of the token.

Will KAITO Face a Major Sell-Off?

Kaito AI’s tokenomics and insider allocations have sparked debates regarding potential sell-off risks post-airdrop.
