]]> Elon Musk caused a notable stir in the meme coin market with a new post on X. Referring to the famous squirrel “Peanut,” Musk harshly criticized the state system. Immediately following his post, the price of Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT) coin surged by 13.5%, rising from $0.211 to $0.239. 

In his post, Musk stated: “They arrested (and killed) Peanut, but didn’t charge anyone on the Epstein client list. The state is already broken.” This sharp comment not only delivered a strong political message but also brought PNUT coin back into the spotlight. 

Previously, Peanut coin had also seen sharp spikes due to Musk’s influence. Launched in October, PNUT reached a market cap of $120 million shortly after Musk’s earlier post. Investors made significant profits during this brief rally. 

Which Coins Did Musk’s Posts Skyrocket Before? 

Elon Musk’s influence on social media has frequently triggered sudden price movements in the crypto market. Projects like Dogecoin (DOGE), Floki Inu (FLOKI), and Grok (GROK) have soared with a single Musk tweet. 

For instance, in 2021, Dogecoin surged over 500% following his “Doge Barking at the Moon” post. Similarly, Floki Inu skyrocketed within days after Musk revealed his dog’s name was Floki. 

These examples clearly demonstrate how Musk’s online influence leads to rapid pricing shifts in the crypto space. 

Whale Activity and Past Volatility in PNUT Coin 

Historical price trends of PNUT show that investor behavior is often driven by Musk’s influence. According to Lookonchain data, a whale spent around 5,100 SOL to purchase 8.99 million PNUT tokens — a transaction worth $831,000. This major buy, along with Musk’s post, helped PNUT exceed a $120 million market cap in October 2024. 

However, as profit-taking continued, the market cap dropped from nearly $120 million to $58.6 million. According to CoinMarketCap, PNUT’s current market cap stands at approximately $227 million.
