An unexpected incident is taking place now: the Omni Network’s ERC-20 token [OMNI] is airdropped. What follows is a steep drop in their trading prices. At the beginning of the distribution, OMNI lost more than $55 due to dumping, as the coin’s value shared its full market capitalization of approximately $92,000,000. Both the investors and the community members who impatiently waited for the airdrop seem to be rolling on the ground now after having some impact from this heaviest drop.

OMNI Airdrop Fallout: Token Value Slashes by Over Half in Less Than 24 Hours

The snap, which occurred on April 17, was a driver of 1.5 of the basic OMNI tokens deliverable to the community contributors. In other words, the snap accounted for 3% of the total token supply. But soon the euphoria was replaced with disappointment when OMNI’s price plummeted around thirty percent within twenty-seven minutes after spiking incredibly high to $53.79 at its peak and crashed down to $39. The current statistics give OMNI no respite; the crypto has lost ground and is now grounded at $24, which is a 55% decline for less than a day.

The market capitalization of OMNI is cut to $267.5 million, and its completely diluted valuation is around $2,57 billion by the end of this day, as its web information shows. The first skidders received the airdrop (community members, testers, and builders), and they got 1.5 million OMNI tokens (around 36.2 million dollars), which at that moment were worth quite a bit. Nevertheless, after the moment of joy of obtaining these tokens, the hope for their future value soon went down.

Dividing the Omni Network token, the Omni Foundation has shown different ways, of which over half is intended for ecosystem development and another portion could be used by the Omni Foundation, which has reserved the rights. Moreover, the team tokens were divided between investors and advisors, with unlock blocklists set for each one of them. On the contrary, there is doubt about the future risk of such plans and also a general fear among the stakeholders as a result of OMNI’s abnormal drop in value.

Rug Pulled: Fake OMNI Token Exits with $398,000, Shaking Investor Trust

Reports that a fake OMNI token with the same name committed an exit fraud to the tune of 398, 000 dollars were another trigger for the turmoil. As per the report from blockchain security firm PeckShield, the stuggled token saw its value be worth 100% after the smart contract deployed by its developers dumped 1.7 quadrillion over tokens exchanged for 132 wrapped Ether (WETH), as affirmed by Harsh. That incident, however, shows profoundly how inadequate the process of due diligence as well as the vigilance within the cryptocurrency world must be.

Now that Omni Network investors as well as members of the community grapple with the possible effects, there is no certainty of what is to come with this network, and gloomy doubts linger on the trustworthiness of the project’s developers. OMNI serves as a striking illustration of the highly unstable nature and potential drawbacks of digital assets. Markets, of course, become even more volatile with the emergence of digital assets, and making informed decisions becomes more prudent and critical than ever.

Ethereum, a groundbreaking blockchain technology, is now facing challenges due to the growing number of rollups.

Rollups, which enhance transaction speed by processing them off the main chain, have led to a fragmented ecosystem. Omni Network offers a promising solution to unify these various rollups, improving the overall user experience and system interoperability.

Understanding Rollups and Their Impact

Rollups help Ethereum scale by handling transactions off the main chain and later syncing them back. This process boosts speed and transaction capacity. Yet, the emergence of diverse rollup solutions has led to a splintered ecosystem, making it difficult for different rollups to work together smoothly.

The Unifying Layer

Created by Harvard alumni and experts formerly from the Ethereum Foundation, Omni Network is a specialized blockchain designed to connect all rollups securely. Its innovative “restaking” feature allows it to leverage Ethereum’s security features while providing a fast, optimized blockchain environment.

Benefits of a Unified Rollup Ecosystem

Omni Network aims to transform the Ethereum landscape by connecting disparate rollups, offering numerous benefits:

Enhanced Interoperability

It enables smooth asset and data transfers across different rollups.

Improved User Experience:

Users can seamlessly interact across various applications without the limitations of separate systems.

Boosted Scalability:

Connecting rollups enhances the overall capacity and performance of the Ethereum network.

Pioneering Ethereum’s Future

Omni Network is not just another blockchain project; it’s a vision for a more integrated, scalable Ethereum ecosystem. It promises to unlock Ethereum’s true potential by enhancing connectivity and usability across its network.

Omni Network is a Layer-1 blockchain that is created to combine all rollups. It targets security, speed, and impeccable functionality. Its token has not been announced yet. However, the project has released a Testnet launch. So that, it can be possible to get Omni Network token airdrop for Testnet users.

What are the purposes of Omni Network?

As it is mentioned, Omni is a Layer-1 blockchain that connects all rollups. It targets minimum fee costs. In addition, it reached up to 100,000 active users. Besides, it permits developers to build interoperable decentralized applications with all rollups. So, Omni solves the problems of building a cross-rollup. Thus, it connects all rollups by accessing users in the ecosystem. Some of its purposes can be put in order as below:

Security: Omni uses the Ethereum staking mechanism in the modular blockchain. Thus, it contributes to high security.

Functionality: Developers work in Solidity with known tools because Omni is EVM-compatible. In addition, the project says that they are the first blockchain that reaches completely customizable functionality.

Speed: Validators will provide faster transactions by using Tendermint PoS consensus. Omni indicates that transactions in the blockchain take 2 seconds.

You might be like: Will Binance-Listed Arkham Conduct A Second Airdrop?

Who are Omni Network funders?

Omni Network received 18 million dollars in investment from companies Pantera Capital, Two Sigma Ventures, Jump Crypto, and others. Besides, the project has announced its partnerships with Arbitrum, Polygon‘s zkEVM, Scroll, Linea, and Starkware.

How can we get an Omni Network token airdrop?

It is clear that If the new projects release their Testnet launch, they could allocate their tokens to Testnet users as an airdrop. So, doing Omni Testnet is very essential to be able to get an airdrop. Before starting we will need a Metamask wallet. The Testnet steps are as below:

Connect your wallet to Omni Network’s Galxe page. Complete tasks on the website. After that, claim your first NFT on there.

Connect your wallet to Omni Network’s Galxe page. Perform any transaction on the Optimism chain. Then, claim your second NFT.

Go to Testnet faucet and claim your test token by entering your wallet address.

Connect your wallet to farm Omni and stake your token. After that, claim staking rewards.

Complete tasks on Omni Zealy.

If you want to see more information about OMNI Network and Airdrop. Stay tuned.
