As of July 30, the Polygon network is facing a major disruption. No new blocks have been produced on the network for more than two hours, raising concerns among blockchain users and developers.

What Happened on the Polygon Network?

The last block was generated approximately two hours ago.

Since then, the network has failed to produce any new blocks.

There is no official explanation yet regarding the cause of the interruption.

According to data from blockchain explorers, block production on the Polygon chain has completely stalled. Initial speculation points toward a possible system-wide crash.

Why It Matters

Polygon is one of the leading Layer-2 solutions compatible with Ethereum, known for offering high speed and low transaction fees. As a result, such a network halt could cause delays and disruptions across multiple platforms — from DeFi protocols to NFT marketplaces.

This type of disruption is not only a technical issue but also a significant trust concern for both investors and developers. As one of the most prominent altcoin ecosystems, Polygon is expected to address this issue transparently and swiftly.

Ongoing Investigation

So far, no technical explanation has been provided. Neither the Polygon team nor its official social media channels have shared detailed updates. However, the community is closely monitoring the situation and actively sharing insights through forums and social platforms.

System-wide halts like this could stem from internal infrastructure failures or extended maintenance tasks that exceed their planned durations. Still, possibilities such as a hard fork, malicious attack, or unforeseen upgrade complications are also being considered.

Market data shows this level hasn’t been breached with sufficient buying volume yet, with analysts anticipating continued tests in the coming days.

Key Levels and Potential Scenarios

Two main scenarios emerge technically: If 0,257$ is broken with strong volume, the rally could extend to 0,30$ potentially signaling complete buyer dominance. Conversely, a rejection from this resistance might see price retreat to the nearest support at the bullish FVG (Fair Value Gap) zone.

Market Dynamics and Broader Outlook

From a wider market perspective, Bitcoin (BTC) and major crypto assets continue to influence POL’s performance. BTC’s direction remains particularly crucial for altcoins. Investors should closely monitor both technical levels and overall market risk sentiment during this period.

For short-term traders, focusing on the $0.30 target if resistance breaks appears reasonable. In a pullback scenario, observing whether the FVG zone holds as support becomes crucial. In both cases, implementing stop-loss strategies remains essential for proper risk management.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to unlock limitless opportunities across various sectors, including the crypto space. Projects like Virtuals Protocol, AIXBT, and Aethir have significantly impacted different aspects of web3.

The demand for AI-generated content is rapidly growing. One of the newest crypto projects in this space, Zerebro, has entered the market with the aim of autonomously producing and distributing content using AI content models.

Let’s dive deeper into Zerebro and explore its innovative AI approach to content creation.

What Is Zerebro Crypto?

Zerebro is an autonomous AI system designed to create, distribute, and analyze content across decentralized and social platforms. It utilizes a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system to maintain a dynamic memory database based on continuously updated human interactions.

Operating without human oversight, Zerebro employs a concept called hyperstition, merging fiction with reality. This approach creates self-sustaining narratives across cultural and financial domains, with primary applications in content creation and cultural integration within digital communities.

The system produces diverse and original high-entropy content across platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Warpcast, and Telegram.

You Might Be Interested In: Elon Musk Shared, That Memecoin Flew: Up 500%!

Additionally, Zerebro fosters thought-provoking conversations within digital communities through its “infinite backrooms” feature. These datasets follow a non-linear thought pattern, resulting in chaotic and surreal artworks with viral potential. These unique creations can be autonomously minted as NFTs on the Polygon (POL) blockchain. Furthermore, Zerebro integrates memetic dynamics and market interaction analysis to autonomously trade these artworks, showcasing AI’s potential to merge cultural creativity with Decentralized Finance (DeFi).

Zerebro Tokenomics

ZEREBRO, the native token of the Zerebro ecosystem, is hosted on the Solana (SOL) blockchain. The total supply is capped at 1 billion ZEREBRO tokens, with 999,972,148 tokens currently in circulation.

Zerebro Market Performance

Autonomous AI systems like Zerebro have transformative potential in the crypto industry, particularly in cultural content generation and financial markets. The project’s hyperstition approach could influence markets by shaping investor behavior through an interplay of culture and technology.

Related Article: Binance Labs Invests in Perena!

The project plans to launch a unified memory across social media platforms, significantly enhancing information retention and boosting user engagement. Additionally, the Zerebro team aims to integrate the ZEREBRO token with DeFi protocols, offering income-generating opportunities like yield farming and vaults.

Since its launch, Zerebro has experienced some price volatility—a common occurrence for new projects establishing a stable price floor. As of January 2, 2025, Zerebro is trading at $0.65, with a market cap exceeding $750 million. This price represents a nearly 100x increase from its all-time low of $0.0058 on November 3, 2024.

However, as a relatively new project, Zerebro remains subject to high volatility. Sound risk management is strongly advised when investing in this or any other altcoin.

One of the most popular platforms in the crypto world, Robinhood, has announced a significant move by listing the Polygon (POL) token.

Robinhood has made substantial investments in the cryptocurrency market in recent years. After drawing attention by listing popular memecoins like DOGE and SHIB, the platform is now diversifying its strategy further by including infrastructure-focused projects like Polygon.

Following the listing announcement, the price of POL experienced a notable uptick. Before the news, POL was trading at around $0.57, but it surged to $0.59 shortly after the announcement.

What is Polygon (POL), and Why is it Important?

Polygon is a Layer 2 solution developed to make the Ethereum infrastructure faster and more cost-effective. Known for its high transaction speed and low costs, this network is widely used by many crypto projects and users worldwide. Robinhood’s decision to list Polygon could help this technology reach a broader audience.

Previously, Robinhood had listed one of the trending memecoins, Dogwifhat ($WIF), which resulted in price increases of up to 10%. Additionally, there have been hints that the platform might list BONK coin later today.

Thanks to the general rise in the cryptocurrency market, NFT sales have experienced a significant increase. The Ethereum network led the charge with $67 million in sales over the past week, while Bitcoin-based NFTs reached $60 million in sales.

On November 17, digital collectible data provider CryptoSlam reported that NFT sales hit $181 million in the last seven days, marking a 94% increase compared to the previous week, when NFT sales were only $93 million.

The Ethereum network finished the week as the top performer, registering a $67 million sales volume, an increase of 111% from the previous week. During the same period, the Bitcoin blockchain saw $60 million in NFT sales, marking a 115% rise.

Other major blockchains, including Solana, Mythos Chain, Immutable, Polygon, and BNB Chain, collectively made $45.5 million in sales.

Along with the surge in sales volume, the average NFT sale value also rose. Over the past seven days, the average sale price of an NFT jumped to $133.08, an 87% increase from the previous week’s average of $71.11.

NFT Market Shows Growth

This surge in sales comes after months of decline in the digital collectible sector. In October, NFT sales amounted to $356 million, an 18% increase from September, when sales had dropped to about $300 million, signaling the end of a seven-month downturn.

Additionally, NFT transactions also saw a rise in October, reaching a total of 7.2 million, marking a 42% increase from the previous month.

The surge in NFT sales aligns with the broader crypto market rally. Following the U.S. presidential elections, crypto markets saw a significant jump, with Bitcoin leading the way. On November 13, Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of $93,477, and as of now, it is trading around $91,000, with a market capitalization of $1.8 trillion.

NFT market continues to thrive, driven by powerful blockchains like Ethereum and Bitcoin, and fueled by the ongoing crypto market momentum. Expect more growth and innovation in the coming periods.

One of the biggest bitcoin exchanges worldwide, Binance, has said that Polygon ($MATIC) would have a temporary suspension of deposits and withdrawals until Friday. This action results from the procedure of relist $MATIC under the new token symbol $POL in the exchange.

Users should expect the suspension until Friday, during which their $MATIC amounts might not show up on their accounts. Binance informed consumers that their money is still safe; temporary visibility problems should go away once the relist process is finished.

As $MATIC moves to a new token standard, the choice to relist it as $POL fits current changes inside the Polygon network. Aimed at increasing the usefulness and scalability of the Polygon network, Binance underlined that the token swap and relisting are part of these enhancements.

Following the Friday relisting procedure, $MATIC tokens in user wallets will be immediately replaced by $POL tokens at a 1:1 ratio. Binance also advised consumers to keep an eye on any updates from the exchange in order to have more knowledge about the relisting.

Binance has announced its support for the upcoming transition from Polygon (MATIC) tokens to Polygon (POL) tokens.

Starting on September 10, 2024, at 03:00 UTC, Binance will delist all existing MATIC trading pairs, including MATIC/BNB, MATIC/BRL, MATIC/BTC, MATIC/ETH, MATIC/EUR, MATIC/FDUSD, MATIC/JPY, MATIC/TRY, MATIC/USDC, and MATIC/USDT. Any pending MATIC orders will also be canceled at this time. Shortly after, on September 13, 2024, at 10:00 UTC, Binance will introduce new trading pairs for POL tokens: POL/BNB, POL/BRL, POL/BTC, POL/ETH, POL/EUR, POL/FDUSD, POL/JPY, POL/TRY, POL/USDC, and POL/USDT.

Deposits and Withdrawals

MATIC deposits and withdrawals will be temporarily halted from September 10, 2024, at 03:30 UTC. It is advised to ensure all MATIC deposits are completed before this cutoff time.

Once the conversion process is finished, Binance will inform users when deposits and withdrawals for POL tokens will resume. After this, withdrawals for MATIC tokens will no longer be supported.

Between September 4, 2024, at 12:00 UTC, and September 10, 2024, at 03:30 UTC, Polygon PoS native tokens will continue trading under the MATIC ticker on Binance.

Token Swap

MATIC tokens held on Binance will automatically be converted into POL tokens at a 1:1 ratio. This process will be seamless, and users need not take any action for the swap to occur.

Spot Trading

As of September 10, 2024, at 03:00 UTC, all MATIC spot trading pairs will be delisted, and trading will be halted. The pairs being removed are MATIC/BNB, MATIC/BRL, MATIC/BTC, MATIC/ETH, MATIC/EUR, MATIC/FDUSD, MATIC/JPY, MATIC/TRY, MATIC/USDC, and MATIC/USDT.

Once the trading suspension is implemented, all outstanding orders for these pairs will be automatically canceled.

Polygon is Launching POL Token! Will There Be an Airdrop? According to an announcement made on October 25, PolygonLabs initiated an Ethereum contract for its new Polygon token, POL. The new token is intended to replace the current token in the ecosystem, MATIC. However, the team has stated that users do not need to replace their MATIC with POL for now.

According to Blockchain data, the new token was created at 09:06 UTC on October 25. Its full name is “Polygon Ecosystem Token“. Also in the announcement, Polygon’s team claimed that POL will implement a “re-staking protocol” that allows token holders to stake multiple chains and perform various functions in the process, promoting a broad ecosystem of “zero-knowledge Layer 2” chains.

Polygon 2.0

The launch of the token will pave the way for the implementation of other aspects of the current Polygon 2.0 roadmap. This includes launching a new staking layer for the Matic ecosystem, additionally upgrading the existing staking (PoS) network to zkEVM Layer 2, and establishing a shared liquidity protocol for all Matic networks, as stated in the announcement.

The team emphasizes that POL is currently not used in any system on the Matic. Both Polygon PoS and Polygon zkEVM continue to be staked with the old token, MATIC, and gas fees on the PoS network are still paid with MATIC. Therefore, users, validators, and application developers do not need to replace their MATIC with POL currently.

You may be interested: FTX Trying to Reactivate!

Polygon Labs announced on June 29 that they were developing a new Layer 2 ecosystem. They named this new ecosystem “Polygon 2.0“. On September 14, the team announced their intention to use a new token, POL, in Polygon 2.0. However, at this point, POL is still a proposal and has not yet been distributed to Ethereum.

The proposed Layer 2 ecosystem of Matic will use zero-knowledge proofs to validate transactions between networks. This will compete with the Optimism ecosystem proposed by Optimism Labs, which will use Optimistic Rollup technology to secure communication between networks.
