After Trump’s election victory, Bitcoin surged to a new record of $75,400, gaining strong momentum. QCP Capital, a prominent Asia-based investment firm in the crypto market, analyzed this rise and stated, “As we move towards 2025, we expect this upward momentum to continue.”

In its statement, QCP Capital highlighted that since Bitcoin’s launch in 2009, three U.S. presidential elections have taken place, and after each election, Bitcoin’s price never returned to the lows seen during the previous election period. The company added, “There’s notable activity in the crypto market. After every U.S. election in Bitcoin’s history, it has reached new highs and has never returned to the previous election’s low. Therefore, we believe this rise will continue as we approach 2025.” QCP Capital emphasized that investors have strong expectations for continued growth.

Meanwhile, the effects of this rise are being observed not only in Bitcoin but also across other actors in the crypto ecosystem. Significant increases have been seen in the stock prices of Bitcoin mining companies, as well as notable gains in the stock values of Tesla and media companies owned by Donald Trump. This phenomenon, referred to as the “Trump trade,” indicates that the Republican presidential candidate’s dominance in the election is directly reflected in the crypto market.

At the time this report was written, Bitcoin continues to trade at around $73,900. Market analysts and investors have optimistic expectations that this momentum will continue into the new year.

In its latest report, market analysis platform QCP suggested that the recent downturns in both stocks and cryptocurrencies are likely to be short-lived.

Bitcoin’s (BTC) pullback from $64,000 to $58,000 has left investors puzzled. As interest among crypto investors wanes, analysts are beginning to weigh in with significant insights.

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez has predicted that BTC could dip as low as $55,400. Meanwhile, QCP reassured its investors in a note, stating that the recent declines are not as alarming as they may seem.

According to QCP’s report:

“We believe any downturn in stocks or crypto will be temporary. With Powell and the Fed poised to initiate a rate-cutting cycle, the resulting liquidity will eventually drive risk assets higher. We are on the brink of a rate-cut cycle. Despite only three meetings left this year, the market is already pricing in four rate cuts for 2024.”

Fed’s Actions Poised to Ignite Crypto Market

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s dovish stance at the Jackson Hole Symposium has calmed the markets. However, despite signals pointing to potential rate cuts, capital has yet to flow into the crypto sector.

QCP argues that with the expected drop in U.S. interest rates, money will soon start pouring into cryptocurrencies, leading to potential rallies on the horizon.

While remaining cautious about U.S. stocks reaching new highs, QCP pointed out that a global market upswing could also give a boost to crypto assets.

The investment firm advised investors to stay vigilant:

“Given the crosswinds we’re currently facing, predicting the timing of the next rally is challenging.”

According to the investment firm QCP, the outlook for Bitcoin bulls may have shifted in the medium term.

In a recent report shared by QCP, it was noted that there has been significant pressure on call spread purchases following the Jackson Hole symposium. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in call options selling, particularly for March 2025 contracts with a strike price of $100,000.

Has the $100,000 Bitcoin Target Been Delayed?

QCP analysts suggest that this trend indicates the market is still optimistic about a price surge, but it might not expect such movement to occur in the near term.

While Bitcoin and Ethereum prices have risen, their volatility suggests a stronger preference for put options over call options until October. This could imply that the market is well-prepared for a move in this direction and has started locking in profits by selling calls.

QCP stated, “Although prices have indeed moved upwards, volatility indicators reveal a sense of hesitation within the market. With front-end volatility declining, it seems likely that Bitcoin’s spot price will fluctuate between $62,000 and $67,000 in the short term.”

This week, Nvidia’s earnings report on Wednesday, August 28, and the U.S. PCE data on Friday, August 30, will be released. QCP has indicated that it does not expect any surprises from these upcoming data points.

Analyzers claim that the way bitcoin and ether options are distributed points to a possible summer dip in trading activity in the cryptocurrency market.

“We are in for a tranquil summer, with a lower volatility environment and no catalyst to propel the market either way,” QCP Capital analysts said in a Friday research report.

Traders should consider accumulation as a tactic in anticipation of “the long, quiet summer, especially for ether,” QCP Capital stated.

“With Gensler expecting the spot ether exchange-traded fund (ETF) approval to happen late summer,” they also projected that there would not be any immediate notable price fluctuations for ether in July.

This Might Interest You: Musk’s xAI Startup Under Fire from Tesla Investors

According to the QCP research, traders are anticipating rather more price action from the second-biggest digital asset by market capitalization in the next few months. But the study also noted that any further volatility premiums for ether over bitcoin might drop as spot ether ETF S-1 Form approval affects market pricing.

“Currently, ether implied volatility is trading at a 10 vol premium to bitcoin, and we expect the spread to narrow with ether overwriters returning as we wait in anticipation of an S-1 Form approval late summer,” the QCP Capital research noted.

Datas shows that the current levels of implied volatility for at-money (ATM) ether options have stayed high since the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved spot ether ETFs on Thursday, May 23. This higher implied volatility in ether options observation corresponds with this. This is especially true for ATM ether options with expirations at August’s end and beyond.
