Zelensky emphasized to Trump the importance of strong international support to ensure Ukraine’s security. In this context, Ukraine offered the United States a $100 billion arms deal in exchange for concrete security guarantees. In addition, the U.S. and Ukraine reached a $50 billion drone production agreement, designed to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capacity and expand cooperation in advanced technologies. 

Zelensky defended the proposal as both a way to strengthen Ukraine’s immediate defense and secure long-term American commitment. “This investment is vital not only for our defense but also for wider regional stability,” Zelensky said during the talks. The offer marks one of Ukraine’s largest military procurement initiatives since the start of the conflict. 

Territorial Dispute and Three-Way Meeting Proposal 

During his conversation with Putin, Trump suggested that certain eastern regions of Ukraine could be handed over to Russia. Zelensky rejected the idea, stressing that territorial integrity was non-negotiable. Trump mentioned he might meet Putin again in the coming weeks to search for solutions. Zelensky, however, called for a three-way summit between himself, Trump, and Putin to ensure that Ukraine’s voice remains central in any peace initiative. 

The latest meetings highlight the complexity of the ongoing war and the difficulty of reaching a comprehensive agreement. While Trump spoke of potential progress, both Putin and Zelensky made clear that their core demands remain firm.
