Founded in 2018, Offchain Labs initially focused on scaling Ethereum through optimistic rollups. Goldfeder emphasized that the broader goal has always been solving the toughest user experience challenges in blockchain technology. He told Blockworks that this acquisition is not a single milestone. “We started with layer two, moved to layer one, and now we’re advancing to the smart contract layer,” he said.

ZeroDev supports over 5 million smart accounts across more than 30 blockchains. Its tools help projects deliver seamless user experiences and are actively used by Apecoin, Conduitxyz, Crossmint, Defidotapp, DIMO Network, and Infinex. He gave a relatable example: “When I watch a video on YouTube, it doesn’t ask me which cloud provider to use. Blockchain should be just as seamless.” This approach reduces friction within the Arbitrum ($ARB) ecosystem, including cross-chain transactions.
