In the crypto ecosystem, Ethena stands out with its vision of the “synthetic dollar.” Having already gained significant momentum with USDe, the project now plans to release two new products within the next three months—products with the potential to scale to the same level as USDe, reaching a system valued in the billions of dollars.

The Rise of USDe

Ethena’s USDe differs from traditional stablecoin models by using a combination of “crypto-backed support + delta hedge.” Instead of relying solely on U.S. dollar reserves, it aims to maintain price stability through a strategy that combines crypto collateralization and hedging via futures positions. This structure makes USDe not just a “stable token” but also a “yield-bearing dollar alternative.”

Current Scale and Ecosystem

USDe has reached a circulating supply valued in the billions of dollars.

It has climbed to the third position among stablecoin markets.

Ethena aims to expand beyond the DeFi ecosystem and reach institutional investors. The new product named iUSDe is designed specifically to appeal to traditional finance (TradFi) participants.

Today, Ethena is not only on the radar of DeFi participants but also attracting attention from the broader financial sector.

You may also like this article: What Is Volume in Cryptocurrencies? What Happens When It Rises?

What’s Next for Ethena?

Ethena’s 2025 roadmap has been made public, and it highlights two key upcoming products:

1. iUSDe – A Synthetic Dollar Bridging to TradFi

This product is described as the “wrapped” version of sUSDe (staked USDe). The key difference, however, is that iUSDe is designed to allow traditional financial institutions to earn yield without the need to directly interact with blockchain operations.

According to Ethena’s roadmap, iUSDe is expected to go live in the first quarter of 2025. This product will enable asset managers, hedge funds, institutional investors, and intermediaries to benefit from the yield generated by USDe.

As a result:

Institutions without blockchain expertise will still be able to access the USDe ecosystem.

Passive income opportunities will be available without the need for token ownership or wallet operations.

This move positions Ethena not only within the crypto space but also as part of the broader financial ecosystem.

2. Telegram Payment / Neobank Experience + Payment Integrations

According to the roadmap, Ethena plans to offer payment, savings, and shopping experiences directly through the Telegram app. Users will be able to make payments using their sUSDe balance and seamlessly switch between spending and saving. Additionally, the plan includes Mastercard-supported payment functionality, allowing for USDe/fiat conversions in certain regions. This feature aims to position Ethena as a “crypto wallet / payment application,” enabling users to both save and spend their USDe in daily transactions.

Current Ethena ($ENA) Data

Private credit platform Pareto has launched a new synthetic dollar aimed at connecting institutional investors with decentralized finance (DeFi). This new digital currency, based on real-world assets (RWA), highlights the growing role of stablecoins in global finance.

What Is USP and How Does It Work?

Pareto’s newly introduced synthetic dollar called USP is fully backed by stablecoins such as USDC and USDt. Users can mint USP by depositing these stablecoins as collateral. The system guarantees a 1:1 collateral ratio, allowing USP to be issued in proportion to the amount of deposited stablecoins.

The deposited assets are transferred into Pareto’s credit vaults and loaned exclusively to carefully selected institutional borrowers. This structure provides investors with interest income. In addition, several stabilization mechanisms, such as arbitrage mechanisms and collateral support, are in place to maintain USP’s peg to the US dollar. In case of credit defaults, a protocol-funded reserve fund steps in.

$USP the credit-backed synthetic dollar is now LIVE!

The wait is over! Meet $USP, a new type of synthetic dollar that gives users access to a diversified basket of institutional credit lines. Backed by RWA institutional lending, not by speculative assets.

Stake it. Compose it… pic.twitter.com/Dr4ZUAZYRj

— Pareto (prev Idle) (@paretocredit) May 15, 2025

A Regulated RWA Gateway for Institutional Investors

With this initiative, Pareto offers a regulated and on-chain entry point into the RWA credit market for institutional investors. Interest in private credit tokenization has increased rapidly in recent months, with firms like Tradable and Apollo also tokenizing their portfolios.

Pareto aims to transfer the transparency advantage of DeFi to the private credit sector. Company representatives state that they chose blockchain infrastructure to eliminate the lack of data, poor risk management, and manual processes seen in traditional credit markets.

“Our goal is not to replicate the shortcomings of traditional finance but to rebuild private credit with DeFi’s transparency and efficiency,” says Pareto co-founder Matteo Pandolfi.

Why Are Synthetic Dollars Important?

Although synthetic stablecoins make up a small portion of the total stablecoin market, they are pioneering innovation in the creation and management of digital dollars. Projects like Ethena continue to grow by offering investors up to 10% annual yield through synthetic assets.

Despite this success, regulators still favor traditionally collateralized stablecoins. Legislative proposals such as the GENIUS Act and the STABLE Act in the US aim to implement stricter regulations on stablecoins. Experts see these efforts as part of a strategic move to protect the global reserve currency status of the US dollar.

Want to use your crypto assets more efficiently and create sustainable yield opportunities? Falcon Finance offers investors a next-generation platform by providing optimized yield strategies through synthetic dollars (USDf).

Falcon Finance is an innovative financial protocol that allows digital asset holders and institutional investors to maximize their yield potential. Built on trust, transparency, and robust technological foundations, the platform is developed by a team of experts in blockchain, financial engineering, and quantitative analysis.

The goal of Falcon Finance is not just to create a protocol but to build a user-centric and sustainable financial ecosystem.

How to Mint and Redeem USDf?

The minting and redemption processes of USDf (synthetic dollar) offered by Falcon Finance take place through a user-friendly and secure system.

KYC Verification: Users must complete identity verification to access the platform.

Wallet Connection: Once approved, users can connect their wallet to the Falcon Finance app.

Asset Deposit: Users can deposit various stable and non-stable assets such as USDC, USDT, FDUSD, BTC, and ETH.

USDf Minting: Once Falcon Finance verifies and approves the collateral, USDf is transferred to the user’s wallet.

USDf Redemption: Users who complete KYC verification can swap USDf with other supported crypto assets.

7-Day Waiting Period: Redeemed assets become available after a 7-day waiting period.

Falcon Finance does not charge a direct protocol fee for USDf minting and redemption. However, gas fees and transaction costs are passed on to users. The platform currently operates on the Ethereum network and plans to expand to other blockchains in the future.

Earning Yield with sUSDf

sUSDf, offered by Falcon Finance, is a yield-bearing token obtained through staking USDf.

USDf Staking: Users can deposit USDf tokens into the Falcon Finance Earn module to mint sUSDf.

Yield Generation: sUSDf increases in value over time through Falcon Finance’s institution-grade yield strategies.

Re-Staking: Users can stake sUSDf for fixed terms (e.g., 3 months, 6 months) to earn higher yields.

NFT Representation: In fixed-term staking, an ERC-721 NFT is assigned to the user’s wallet, providing additional yield during the staking period.

Falcon Finance not only leverages traditional delta-neutral arbitrage and funding rate opportunities but also employs advanced statistical arbitrage algorithms to offer risk-adjusted and sustainable yields.

Why Falcon Finance Stands Out?

Falcon Finance advances synthetic dollar systems by enabling diversified collateral across different asset classes. The protocol, backed by blue-chip crypto assets, stablecoins, and selected altcoins, offers the following advantages:

Institutional-Grade Yield Strategies: Optimized earnings opportunities using advanced arbitrage algorithms.

Secure Custody Solutions: High security through MPC (Multi-Party Computation), multi-signature systems, and hardware-managed keys.

Transparent and User-Focused Structure: A fair and transparent protocol that allows users to maximize their assets.

Expandable Blockchain Support: Currently running on Ethereum, with plans to support additional blockchain networks.
