U.S.-based fintech giant Robinhood Markets has taken a significant step forward in its blockchain strategy. The company’s newly launched public testnet for Robinhood Chain generated four million transactions within its first week, signaling strong early engagement from developers and the broader crypto ecosystem.

The milestone was shared by CEO Vlad Tenev, highlighting what appears to be substantial initial traction for the firm’s Layer 2 initiative.

A Layer 2 Built for Tokenized Finance

Robinhood Chain is designed as an Ethereum Layer 2 network built on Arbitrum, leveraging the scalability and cost-efficiency benefits associated with rollup-based infrastructure. Operating within the Ethereum ecosystem, the network aims to support high-throughput financial applications while remaining permissionless.

Before opening to the public, the chain underwent six months of private testing. It is architected to natively support tokenized equities, ETFs, and other real-world assets (RWAs), reflecting Robinhood’s long-term commitment to bringing traditional financial instruments onchain. The infrastructure is tailored for near-instant settlement and continuous trading environments, aligning with the company’s broader push toward modernizing capital markets.

Developer Activity and Strategic Direction

According to Tenev, developers have already begun building applications focused on tokenized RWAs and onchain financial services. The rapid accumulation of transactions during the first week suggests meaningful experimentation and early-stage adoption across the developer community.

To strengthen the ecosystem, Robinhood has integrated several established Web3 infrastructure providers, including Alchemy, LayerZero, and Chainlink. These partnerships are expected to enhance interoperability, data reliability, and developer tooling across the network.

Despite a 38% year-over-year decline in crypto transaction revenue to $221 million in the fourth quarter of last year, Robinhood continues to expand its tokenization roadmap. The company has announced plans to extend its tokenized stock offerings with features such as 24/7 trading, near real-time settlement, and self-custody capabilities.

While a specific launch date has not yet been disclosed, the mainnet debut of Robinhood Chain is anticipated later this year. The strong early performance of the testnet reinforces Robinhood’s strategic commitment to building financial infrastructure onchain.

Jameson Lopp, a Bitcoiner, has reported that he orchestrated an attack to disrupt the accessibility test of one of the Bitcoin testnets, sparking an outcry within the community. Lopp’s actions, which grossly breached the protocol, including creating about two years’ worth of coins in a week’s time, have caused a storm of criticism from a variety of people, including programmers and industry leaders.

Bitcoin Community Divided Over Testnet Manipulation

Francois Poulyeaum, managing director of Bull Bitcoin, didn’t mince words when criticizing the offender, calling him a “douchebag loser” and accentuating the destructive effect of such an act on the testing process. As Pouilot predicted, other people also expressed their discontent by saying that Lopp was guilty of a nuisance.

However, Lopp was flipping the coin too. He underscored the importance of addressing existing issues in the testnet, thereby circumventing the need for a fork and the arduous process of developing new software. He maintained that the act’s relative simplicity and the possibility of occurring in the gray zones between public and private spaces that conveniently lurk in every community required immediate attention. Lopp claims, in fact, that the assault that required just $1 worth of power was a wake-up call for the whole bitcoin community.

Debate Erupts on Security Risks and Testnet’s Future

This is where the breach ignited the old argument about how Bitcoin’s testnets could be secure and what implications it will have for the overall network’s resilience. The warning also reached Leo Weese, who represented Lightning Labs. He pointed out that the unfortunate incidents may be pivotal in revising the strategies used in performing network tests.

The controversy has led to vehement calls for more rigorous control mechanisms to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Community members who take a hard stance on this matter believe that people, just like Lopp, should not have permission to participate in testnets and may pose vulnerabilities to the network as a whole.

The future of Bitcoin debate is developing, and currently the focus is on the fate of infrastructure testing. Lopp has already said that he would initiate a recall after giving the affected tissues a new look due to intrinsic flaws in the code, which have been exposed by the assault, in order to bring them into question and fortify their credibility. We anticipate that the conclusions from these sessions will shape Bitcoin’s development and methodology in the current and upcoming months.

While the Solana network is facing a recent period of congestion, Hardhat Chad, who is the creator of the Ore project, proposed that the Solana Foundation itself increase the incentives in exchange for testnet adoption. The proposal observed a critical time for Solana, when it suffered from transaction errors up to 75%.

Chad Calls for SOL Token Rewards to Boost Solana Testnet Activity

With his work on Ore, Chad approves of the need for active participation in testing by the team in order to get the full capacity of the platform and identify the problems. In his latest post on the X social platform, Mr. Smith proposed that the Solana Foundation should consider token incentivization, where users get SOL tokens for their participation in testnet activities.

The response of the community to Chad’s proposal has been a mixture of support and criticism. Although there are some support takers, underived from TheSoftwareJedi advice, Chad has to be careful to focus on ore building and establish a good reputation in the foundations. Yet Chad stated that investment in testnet tools wasn’t his intention for Ore but rather to develop a currency, contrary to his aim to fight fraud. Thus, he is resetting incentives or redefining the good measure.

To strengthen the course for Ore v2, which is focused on sustainability and the project’s dedication to searching for viable distribution channels, this shift is made. Launched on Solana, Ore takes the WPoW (the abbreviations for PoW amount bates questioned) approach, upgrading the PoS (upgrading PoS here is not necessary) and Solana’s fast transaction capabilities.

On the one hand, Ore is one of the main contributors to the Solana’s congestion, but his case, among others, highlights the scaling complications of the blockchain as a whole. For this purpose, the developers of Solana have recently released their mainnet beta update, version 1.17.31, which incorporates additional functionality designed to minimize congestion. Besides, the next version is supposed to include amendments to provide effective solutions to the problems of the network.

As Solana, Ore, and a number of other projects face the complexities of cryptography scalability, the issues regarding the testnet incentives clearly demonstrate that community engagement and collaboration are crucial in addressing the above-mentioned challenges.

What is DATS Project, an innovative cybersecurity project targeting Web3 security? What purpose does it serve? Here are the details!

What is DATS Project?

DATS Project has been designed by the ParSecure Cyber Security Team located in the Technopark of Informatics Valley, the largest in Turkey.

Aiming to grab a share from the cybersecurity industry, DATS Project is a blockchain firm producing automated vulnerability scanning and cybersecurity solutions with distributed high computing power (D-HPC), and is designed for Web3 and blockchain security.

DATS develops software as a service (SaaS) integrated with high-performance computing (HPC), aiming to increase the resilience of the projects within the blockchain ecosystem against increasing cyber attacks and eliminate several problems in the cybersecurity industry.

How Does It Work?

It specifically targets Web3 security by leading the DePIN category. Thanks to the “Proof of Resource (PoR)” smart contract, it allows users to allocate system resources seamlessly.

DATS simplifies the creation and flow of high-performance and complex processes for all users. By enabling the distribution and processing of complex CPU and GPU-based operations, it facilitates users to detect cyber threats, scan the entire internet detecting threats, identifying risks toward metaverse products, creating nodes for blockchain risks from great technology integrity, and having technology integrity requiring high calculation power.

While tackling many challenges in the field of Web3 security with D-HPC achieved with the participants’ micro-scale system resources, it provides unparalleled performance in security auditing services. D-HPC uses the methodology of hackers, detecting security vulnerabilities ahead of them with much more system resources they have.

The total value locked (TVL) of Ethereum-based liquid restaking protocol EigenLayer saw an incredible increase of $1 billion just eight hours after the protocol temporarily lifted its staking limit.

On February 5th, EigenLayer announced plans to temporarily lift its 200,000 Ether (ETH) protocol staking limit until February 9th to “attract organic demand” to its network. The protocol stated that this temporary change could pave the way for the permanent removal of all staking limits in the future.

EigenLayer TVL

Just eight hours after the announcement, EigenLayer’s TVL jumped from $2.5 billion to approximately $3.58 billion, as investors rushed to stake their liquid-staked ETH tokens on the protocol. According to DefiLlama data, this represents a massive $1.6 billion increase over the past week.

EigenLayer is a protocol that allows investors to earn additional yield by staking their staked ETH tokens to secure other networks. It currently supports liquid staking tokens such as Lido DAO’s staked ETH (stETH) and Swell Stated Ether (swETH).

Lido Staked ETH is the largest restaked token on EigenLayer, accounting for $1.2 billion of the protocol’s total TVL. Swell Staked ETH is the second largest token on the protocol, with a TVL of $392 million.

The process of restaking allows investors to lock their existing liquid staking tokens and earn interest, while also using those tokens to participate in validation, lending, and liquidity provision on other blockchain networks.

While EigenLayer has seen widespread adoption for providing a new use case for staked ETH tokens, market commentators and developers have raised concerns about the protocol’s mechanics, particularly the high leverage nature of its restaking capabilities.

In May 2023, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin warned that a significant increase in restaking, coupled with the overutilization of data or price oracles, could pose significant “systemic risks” to the Ethereum ecosystem.

EigenLayer’s Testnet was launched on April 7, 2023, and the protocol’s Mainnet was launched two months later on June 14. Since then, the protocol’s TVL has grown by a staggering 21,623%, reflecting the overall excitement in the crypto market for restaking.

Berachain is a Layer-1 blockchain project based on Cosmos SDK, which is poised to gain a significant position in the DeFi world. DeFi lovers! We are providing a step-by-step guide on the Artio Testnet and the airdrop campaign of the Berachain project. In addition, you can access Coin Engineer’s detailed review article for the general evaluation of the project from here.

Prepare your Metamask wallet

Step 1: First, download and install your Metamask wallet on your computer or mobile device. Then, create or log in to your wallet.

Step 2: Go to the Faucet address for test tokens and request 0.25 BERA to your wallet. The transaction may take a while due to the congestion, so be patient during this process.

Join Discord channels for Berachain Artio Testnet

Step 3: Go to the Discord channels to join the Berachain community. Here, you can interact with the project developers and other participants, and access up-to-date information.

Participate in Galxe events

Step 4: Participate in social media and event tasks organized through the Galxe platform. These tasks are a great opportunity to promote the project to a wider audience and win additional rewards.

Use the BEX Swap Platform

Step 5: Go to the BEX Swap Platform and connect your wallet. Make token conversion transactions with the BERA tokens you received from the Faucet to various test tokens.

Step 6: In the Swap section, convert your BERA tokens to test tokens such as WBERA, STGUSDC, WBTC, HONEY, and WETH. Then, add liquidity to various pools in the Pool section to earn rewards.

Use the Bend DeFi Platform

Step 7: Go to the Bend DeFi Platform. Here, you can lend the tokens you have and earn HONEY in return, and you can withdraw this transaction to earn additional income.

Use the BERPS Trade Platform

Step 8: Go to the BERPS Trade Platform. Gain experience by opening futures contracts with the HONEY stablecoin. Try opening futures contracts on the ATOM, TIA, ETH, and BTC pairs.

Use BGT Station

Step 9: Go to BGT Station. On this platform, you can earn more by staking the BGT tokens you earn to validators. You can also participate in network voting.

Now you are ready to earn rewards by completing various tasks on the Berachain Artio Testnet. Remember that the transactions made during the testnet do not carry real value, but it is a great opportunity to better understand the project and predict potential gains. Good luck!

Polymer Labs said on Tuesday that the round was led by Blockchain Capital, Maven 11, and Distributed Global, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Placeholder, Digital Currency Group, North Island Ventures, and Figment Capital.

It is unclear when Polymer started raising for the round or when the project closed. Co-founder Peter Kim declined to comment on the timeline. He also declined to comment on the structure of the round, whether it was equity, token, or equity plus token-warrant round, and valuation.

Polymer’s Series A seed round occurred two years ago, raising $3.6 million. Kim said the project is in the development phase of its Ethereum composability infrastructure and plans to launch the Testnet in about 2 months.

Ethereum Interoperability Hub

Polymer Labs is building an “Ethereum interoperability hub” to connect all blockchains, starting with Ethereum, with the goal of creating the next generation of the internet.

Polymer noted that existing Layer 2 networks and interoperability token bridges are widely used but not robust against attacks, adding that the Layer 2 aggregation will enable protocols on different chains to “communicate efficiently and securely, improving their functionality without introducing new trust assumptions.”

The company is using the centrally managed Cross-Chain Communication protocol, the Cosmos standard for blockchain interoperability, and the Optimism Stack.

Polymer said that eventually, any developer building any Web3 application on any chain will be able to use the interoperability tool.

ZkBridge is a new generation bridge system that can perform transactions faster and cheaper than other bridge dApps. Transactions from Cosmos to Ethereum, for example, can be sent in 2 minutes and at a lower cost, according to tests.

Polyhedra zkBridge was founded to enable Layer 1 and Layer 2 to work together on top of the LayerZero protocol. It also developed the zkLightClient technology, which is a solution for cross-chain infrastructures.

The Polyhedra zkLightClient technology works seamlessly with LayerZero‘s messaging protocol. This allows developers to easily perform transactions without leaking information.

Supported Networks

Polyhedra Network plans to launch its token bridge systems along with the “Alpha Mainnet“. This will allow you to send your NFTs and tokens to the recipient chain at a lower cost via zkBridge.

Polyhedra zkBridge supports networks such as BSC, Ethereum, Matic, Avax, Optimism, and Arbitrum. You can see the detailed network list in the following image:

Polyhedra Network Investors?

Polyhedra Network has raised 2 rounds of investment funds so far. In the first round, it managed to raise a fund of $10 million under the name of “Strategic Partnership”. In this round, it received investment from major companies such as Binance Labs, PolyChain Capital, and Animoca Brands.

Polyhedra Network raised $15 million in funding under the name of “PRE-SERIES A”. In this round, it received investment from major companies led by KuCoin Ventures, Foresight Ventures, and Hashkey Capital.

Polyhedra‘s investment rounds are ongoing. They will likely be able to raise additional investment in the coming process.

Polyhedra Network Token Possibility?

Although there are certain clues about this in the medium articles, there is no detailed explanation about this topic yet.

Polyhedra Network Airdrop Possibility?

Since Polyhedra Network is a project that is invested in by major exchanges such as Binance Labs and Kucoin Ventures, it is a project with the potential to make an airdrop.

Although it is not known whether they will have their own tokens, there is a possibility that Tokenomics will be shared soon thanks to these two exchanges.

Here are some things you can do to increase your chances of winning an airdrop:

Join the project Discord channels and collect roles

Go to the project website and bridge with existing NFTs

Collect points through their “Loyalty Program” launched through Galxe

Follow new updates.
