One of the main reasons for Plasma (XPL) sharp decline was the claim that the Plasma project was developed by the same team behind Blast. Blast launched in late 2023 and has since faced multiple issues, including attacks, network outages, lack of transparency in the development process, token distribution problems, and controversial airdrops. These events created investor anxiety and triggered panic selling.

Meanwhile, ICO investors sold tokens after achieving significant short-term gains, increasing spot selling volume. Analyst Alex Kruger noted that high spot sales contributed to the decline and it was not caused by short squeeze activity.

Analyst Opinions

Charts show XPL bullish structure was disrupted, but analysts expect recovery if FUD subsides and ICO selling pressure eases. Our analysis highlighted $0.8877 as a strong support level, with a ~20% rebound already observed.

Hamster Kombat introduced a new layer-2 blockchain called Hamster Network on TON (The Open Network) on February 25, 2025. This network was created to support Web3 games and decentralized applications.

The Hamster Kombat team announced that the layer-2 blockchain network was launched in collaboration with TON. This network is the first gaming-focused layer-2 blockchain solution within the TON ecosystem.

Hamster Kombat stated that the new network was designed to enable developers to build fully decentralized applications and ensure that the entire game logic operates on-chain through smart contracts. “We’re not talking about decentralized games that store only specific pieces of data or NFTs on-chain. We’re talking about games where the entire logic is embedded in smart contracts,” they added.

Hamster Kombat and Hamster Verse: The Entertainment Ecosystem

Hamster Kombat doesn’t aim to be limited to gaming. The team described the second season of the game as the foundation for a larger entertainment ecosystem called “Hamster Verse,” which will center around characters from the Web3 game.

To support this ecosystem, Hamster Kombat’s decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) proposed the creation of the layer-2 network on TON. The team confirmed that the necessary infrastructure for the launch was in place. This infrastructure includes a crypto wallet, a bridge, and a dedicated decentralized exchange (DEX). Users with a TON wallet will be able to use the same address on the Hamster Network.

HMSTR Token Drops 35%

Hamster Kombat’s token, HMSTR, experienced a 35% decline in February. According to CoinGecko, the token opened at $0.00272 on February 1. At the time of writing, the token was trading at $0.00176.

The team emphasized that the token will continue to play a central role in the Hamster ecosystem. “It works as gas for transactions, governance participation, network validation, and rewarding active community members and developers,” they told Cointelegraph.

Despite the challenges in the crypto market, Hamster Kombat assured that their focus remains on ensuring that the token provides “maximum utility.”

At its peak, the Hamster Kombat project had over 300 million users. However, the number declined as other TON projects emerged. Currently, Hamster Kombat has 11.5 million monthly active users on Telegram.
