BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has made a significant investment in Securitize, a company it has been working with in the tokenization space. This move further demonstrates BlackRock’s commitment to tokenization and its belief in its potential to revolutionize the capital markets.

Securitize Raises $47 Million in New Funding

The $47 million funding round was led by BlackRock, with other participants including Hamilton Lane, ParaFi Capital, and TradeWeb Markets. This investment will allow Securitize to continue to develop its tokenization platform and expand its reach.

As part of the investment, Joseph Chalom, Head of Global Strategic Ecosystem Partnerships at BlackRock, will join Securitize’s board of directors. This highlights BlackRock’s commitment to the success of Securitize and its belief in the future of tokenization.

Chalom commented on the investment, saying, “At BlackRock, we believe that tokenization has the potential to revolutionize the capital markets infrastructure. Our investment in Securitize is a key part of our digital asset strategy and will help us to better meet the needs of our clients in the future.”

Securitize CEO Sees Bright Future for Tokenization

Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo also spoke about the future of tokenization, saying, “This deal is a testament to the strength of our partnerships and our shared vision for the future of finance. We are committed to leading the way in tokenization and real-world asset securitization, and we believe that all major asset managers will eventually issue funds on the blockchain. We are excited to see what the future holds.”

BlackRock’s investment in Securitize is the latest in a series of moves that the company has made to show its commitment to tokenization. The company has also launched a tokenized fund, BUIDL, which invests in US Treasury bonds, repurchase agreements, and cash.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has also spoken about the importance of tokenization, saying that it is the “future of the world.”
