Jeremy Allaire: “We’re Not There Yet, But Very Close”

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, following his company’s recent debut on the New York Stock Exchange, believes the era of explosive growth for stablecoins is right around the corner. “We’re not quite at the iPhone moment — when developers everywhere see the true power of programmable digital dollars — but we’re very close,” he said.

Allaire described stablecoins as “the highest utility form of money ever created,” suggesting a broader technological and economic shift is underway.

Retail Giants Enter the Stablecoin Arena

While developer interest rises, major retailers are joining the game. Reports say Amazon and Walmart are exploring their own USD-backed stablecoins for customers. Meanwhile, Shopify plans to integrate Circle’s USDC by the end of 2025.

a16z Crypto’s Sam Broner added that stablecoins enable more competition in fintech by reducing costs and barriers. “Now anyone can program money,” he wrote.

Transaction Volumes Surpass Legacy Systems

Over the past year, stablecoins facilitated $33 trillion in transactions — nearly 20 times the volume of PayPal and nearly three times that of Visa, according to a16z data scientist Daren Matsuoka.

Matsuoka argues this could be the first real path to bring one billion people into crypto. Meanwhile, Circle’s public debut was a major success, with shares jumping 167% on their first day. Rival Tether, however, has no plans to go public, according to its CEO Paolo Ardoino.

In a post on X, Binance Chain stated: 

“The Maxwell upgrade is live on the testnet, inviting developers for early testing!” 

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) emphasized the update’s potential on X, saying, “Lower fees, faster transactions coming soon.” This upgrade aims to support growth in decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming finance (GameFi), and enterprise blockchain services. The testnet phase’s success suggests a smooth mainnet transition, though no specific date has been announced. Developers and validators are encouraged to test the new features. 

BNB Chain’s Leadership in Transaction Volume 

Additionally, BNB Chain outperforms other blockchains in transaction activity. According to Nansen’s on-chain data, weekly transaction volume surged by 49%, placing BNB Chain ahead of competitors like Aptos, NEAR Protocol, Stellar, and Sonic Labs. In the last 30 days, BNB Chain DEX protocols recorded over $100 billion in transaction volume, surpassing Ethereum’s $67 billion and Solana’s $97 billion in the same period. Furthermore, VanEck’s tokenized US Treasury fund VBILL launched on BNB Chain, strengthening its enterprise adoption. World Liberty Finance’s USD1 stablecoin also expanded integrations with exchanges and wallets, boosting liquidity. These developments accelerate BNB Chain’s adoption in DeFi and other sectors, contributing to ecosystem growth. 

BNB Price Analysis 

Moreover, Binance coin price shows strong bullish potential based on technical analysis. According to crypto analyst Cryptorand, BNB is currently trading at $660, a 13% increase from this month’s low. The price broke above a long-term descending trendline that had acted as resistance since December 2024. Key support lies at $600-$620, with resistance at $690-$730. Analysts predict that if BNB holds above $660, it could test $720. However, a drop below $660 could see the price retreat to $620, or in a more bearish scenario, to $515-$530. These levels are critical for investors to monitor. 

The Maxwell Hard Fork strengthens BNB Chain’s speed and scalability, bolstering the ecosystem. The 49% surge in transaction volume and new asset integrations solidify its leadership position. According to analysts BNB’s price carries potential to reach $720, but the $660 support level will be decisive.

According to Kaiko’s data, USDC’s transaction volume on Binance reached $24 billion in January 2025, accounting for 49% of the global volume. This propelled USDC’s market share to a historic peak.

USDC Volume and Rise 

USDC’s rise is reshaping the stablecoin market. While Tether maintains its lead with a $139 billion market cap, USDC’s $56 billion supply and growing adoption on networks like Solana are noteworthy. According to DeFiLlama, USDC’s supply on Solana rose to 17%, while Ethereum’s dominance dropped to 59%. Meanwhile, regulatory developments are supporting USDC’s growth. The anticipated U.S. stablecoin legislation in 2025 could favor regulated issuers like Circle. 

USDC’s record volume opens new opportunities for digital payments and decentralized finance (DeFi). Binance’s integration of USDC into its products and services could boost the stablecoin’s use in global trade. Furthermore, Circle’s planned IPO in 2025 could solidify USDC’s position in the financial ecosystem. These developments are bringing the stablecoin market closer to its 2022 peak of $187 billion. 

Europe’s MiCA regulation provides regulatory clarity while creating strategic challenges for stablecoins. MiCA compliance will be mandatory in the EU; USDC offers stronger regulatory positioning and transparency compared to USDT. USDC’s success in April 2025 underscores the strategic importance of the Binance partnership.

ETF Excitement Soars Litecoin Price!

The market capitalization of Litecoin increased by 46% between February 2 and February 19. Santiment noted that part of this growth was due to the network’s daily transaction volume reaching $9.6 billion over the last week.

At the end of August, daily transaction volume was $2.8 billion, and it has since surged by 243%, reaching $9.6 billion in just five months. Additionally, Litecoin’s price has doubled since November, outpacing the overall cryptocurrency market, which grew by 42%.

Santiment stated, “There’s rising excitement for the Litecoin ETF, 13 months after the approval of Bitcoin ETFs by the SEC.”

Important Steps Taken for Litecoin ETF!

On February 19, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) accepted a rule change proposal for listing the spot Litecoin ETF by CoinShares on the Nasdaq.

Meanwhile, Canary Capital’s Litecoin ETF was listed on the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) system with the LTCC code on February 20. DTCC is a critical infrastructure known for managing trillions of dollars in securities transactions in global financial markets.

The Litecoin Foundation stated, “This is a crucial preparation step for the potential launch of the fund.”

However, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas emphasized that this does not mean the product is approved or ready to trade, but rather the issuer is preparing. Balchunas also highlighted a 90% chance for ETF approval within 2024.

Litecoin Price Jumps 8.5%!

Following the listing news on DTCC, Litecoin’s price saw an 8.5% increase, rising from $127 to $138, before experiencing a slight correction.

In the last two weeks, Litecoin has risen 30%, surpassing Bitcoin, which has been trading in a narrow range during the same period.
