American rapper Gazzy Garcia, better known as Lil Pump, shared his new tattoo reminiscent of the Solana blockchain platform on Instagram. While Garcia asked his more than 14 million followers if they liked his new tattoos, he also stated that he had already sold his Solana<\/a> tokens.<\/p>\n

“Do you like my new tattoos? Sold my LEFT,” Garcia wrote.<\/p>\n

Lil Pump is especially known for his single “Gucci Gang”, which peaked at number three on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in 2017.<\/p>\n

How was Lil Pump’s tattoo received on social media?<\/h2>\n

Instagram followers did not like Garcia’s new tattoo. Many fans commented that they missed the rapper’s old self. While some questioned whether the tattoo was real or not, some thought that this move could increase the price of Solana (SOL<\/a>). One follower wrote: “To the moon! Gucci Gang, Gucci Gang, Gucci Gang!” wrote his comment.<\/p>\n

Trader Mane criticized Lil Pump’s tattoo harshly: “Your crypto earnings are as bad as the music you make. The good news is that you’re so bad at both that you can’t make money from either.”<\/p>\n

Garcia’s new tattoo comes at a time when many celebrity-backed crypto projects are experiencing serious declines. On June 6, many tokens launched by celebrities lost at least 66% of their value. Crypto tokens backed by names such as Caitlyn Jenner, American rapper Rich the Kid and Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke Oon experienced a major decline after their initial gains.<\/p>\n

Additionally, cryptocurrencies associated with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and American rappers Moneybagg Yo (SPEAK) and Trippie Red (BANDO) are among the celebrity-related coins that have lost nearly 90% of their value.<\/p>\n

Despite this, celebrities continue to issue new tokens. On June 11, controversial social media figure Andrew Tate introduced a Solana-based memecoin called Daddy Tate (DADDY). Token beats out Iggy Azalea’s project despite accusations of insider trading.<\/p>\n

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin is very critical of the celebrity memecoin craze. Buterin believes that financialization can only be justified as long as it adds value to society. This means improving healthcare or encouraging art and creativity.<\/p>\n
