Chris Larsen, co-founder and chairman of Ripple, the company behind the XRP cryptocurrency, has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 US presidential election. Larsen is one of 88 company leaders who signed a letter supporting Harris\u2019 candidacy, CNBC reported on September 6.<\/p>\n

Other notable signatories include Box co-founder and CEO Aaron Levie, Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman, Snap chairman Michael Lynton and former 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch.<\/p>\n

The endorsement follows the recent move by former Ripple board member Gene Sperling, who left his White House post in early August to join Harris\u2019 campaign. Sperling, who served as an economic advisor to Presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, has been part of Ripple since 2015.<\/p>\n

According to Politico, David Plouffe, a former adviser to Binance and crypto payment provider Alchemy Pay, has also joined Harris\u2019 campaign team. These developments signal a growing alignment between the crypto industry and Harris\u2019 presidential bid.<\/p>\n

Industry Support Grows for Presidential Candidates<\/h2>\n

Larsen\u2019s support for Harris is one of a series of endorsements from prominent crypto figures. In June, Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Invest, known for her bullish stance on Bitcoin, publicly endorsed Donald Trump, stating that she would support the candidate who would best serve the U.S. economy. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of crypto trading platform Gemini, also pledged $1 million in Bitcoin to Trump\u2019s reelection campaign.<\/p>\n

As the 2024 race progresses, the intersection of cryptocurrency and politics is becoming a key element in the campaign strategies of U.S. presidential candidates.<\/p>\n
