Participating in the round were Syncracy Capital, 1KX, Robot Ventures, Placeholder, and others, therefore adding to the overall investment of the foundation at $155 million.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in October 2023, <strong>Celestia<\/strong> is a network meant to offload the data needs of other blockchain systems, hence enabling their scalability. Its &#8220;data availability sampling&#8221; system lets users confirm sizable blocks without downloading all the material.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celestia<\/strong> will be scaled to 1-gigabyte blocks, recently disclosed by network engineers (by comparison, the typical Bitcoin block consists of one to two megabytes of data).<\/p>\n<p>Since the mainnet debut last year, <strong>Celestia<\/strong> has seen about two dozen roll-ups.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>From the dial-up era to the broadband era, <strong>Celestia<\/strong> launched last year as the first modular data availability layer scaled blockspace<\/em>&#8220;, said <strong>Celestia Foundation Chair Mustafa Al-Bassam<\/strong> in a statement.
