Cullen Hoback’s direction of the movie is said to clarify Nakamoto’s identify. Though neither Hoback nor HBO have said if the documentary will unequivocally expose who Nakamoto is, both have hinted at such in advertising materials. Consequently, the Polymarket betting pool now has total volume of $389,738 and Sassaman is the odds-on favorite.<\/p>\n

Known for his participation in the Cypherpunk movement and support of privacy-enhancing technologies, Sassaman, who died in 2011 at the age of 31, Though he has no obvious relationship to Bitcoin, his history has spurred rumors that he might have been the mysterious Bitcoin inventor.<\/p>\n

Although Hal Finney, Adam Back, Craig Wright, and Nick Szabo are other strong candidates in the Polymarket pool, Sassaman presently ranks highest. The market rules state that should the HBO documentary find Sassaman as the main innovator behind Bitcoin, the market will correct in his advantage.<\/p>\n
