Nakamoto withdrew from the project in December 2010, and since then, numerous misidentifications and claims have emerged. One of the most notable incidents was in 2014 when *Newsweek* identified California-based physicist Dorian Nakamoto as the creator of Bitcoin. Following this, themed memecoins featuring Dorian were created on the Arbitrum, Ethereum, and Solana platforms.<\/p>\n<p>A year later, in 2015, *Gizmodo* and *Wired* introduced Australian computer scientist Craig Steven Wright as Satoshi. However, an English court definitively ruled that Wright did not create Bitcoin. Sassaman was a coder who died by suicide at the age of 31 and had close ties with the Father of Cryptography, David Chaum. Back founded the Bitcoin development company Blockstream and was one of the first two people to initiate correspondence with Satoshi. However, Back has repeatedly denied these claims and argued that Satoshi&#8217;s remaining anonymous would help Bitcoin be perceived as a commodity.<\/p>\n<p>HBO&#8217;s documentary reopens the discussion on how the efforts to identify Satoshi Nakamoto have evolved and the impact of the creator&#8217;s identity on the cryptocurrency world.
