The digital currency <strong>will be used by<\/strong> individuals as well as <strong>businesses and public institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-150148\" src=\"https:\/\/coinmuhendisi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/01956081-97cf-7577-b2cb-90a2efadfa50.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"879\" height=\"651\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The report states that the digital shekel <strong>will support offline transactions, be compatible with other payment systems and offer instant transaction confirmation<\/strong>. It is also emphasized <strong>that digital sugar will offer advanced solutions for privacy and can be used to combat the informal economy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Role_of_the_Private_Sector_and_Technical_Structure\"><\/span><strong>Role of the Private Sector and Technical Structure<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The issuer of the digital shekel will be the <strong>Bank of Israel<\/strong>, but <strong>private sector firms will be involved in the user registration process and the development of additional financial services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the plan:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The digital shekel will be integrated with other payment systems.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Support offline payments.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Allow instant transfers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Central Bank said the system <strong>will allow users to transact even if they do not directly own digital shekels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Feedback_Process_Started\"><\/span><strong>Feedback Process Started<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Bank of Israel has launched a program called <strong>the \u201cDigital Shekel Challenge<\/strong> \u201d to assess how the digital shekel can be applied.
