The US government<\/strong> currently holds approximately 198,109 Bitcoin (BTC)<\/strong>, valued at around $17.7 billion<\/strong>, according to data from blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence<\/strong>. This Bitcoin stash was primarily accumulated through seizures and forfeitures in criminal cases.<\/p>\n

On March 6<\/strong>, President Donald Trump<\/strong> signed an executive order officially establishing the US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR)<\/strong>. According to this order, any Bitcoin<\/strong> obtained through criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings<\/strong> will be added to the reserve.<\/p>\n

However, federal agencies must conduct a detailed audit to determine the exact amount of Bitcoin<\/strong> currently held by the US government<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
