Franklin Templeton Becomes the Largest Asset Manager to File for a Solana ETF<\/h2>\n

On March 12, Cboe BZX Exchange<\/strong> submitted a 19b-4 filing<\/strong> to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)<\/strong> on behalf of Franklin Templeton<\/strong> for the listing and trading of the Franklin Solana ETF<\/strong>. Managing over $1.5 trillion in assets<\/strong>, Franklin Templeton is now the largest asset manager<\/strong> to apply for a Solana-based exchange-traded fund (ETF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 19b-4 filing<\/strong> marks the second step<\/strong> in the SEC\u2019s approval process<\/strong> for a crypto ETF<\/strong>. Once acknowledged by the SEC<\/strong>, the filing will be published in the Federal Register<\/strong>, initiating the regulatory review process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This application follows Franklin Templeton\u2019s spot XRP ETF filing<\/strong> just a day earlier. With an increase in crypto-friendly policies<\/strong> in the U.S., ETF applications<\/strong> for digital assets<\/strong> beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum<\/strong> have seen significant growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to Bloomberg ETF analysts<\/strong>, as altcoin ETF applications<\/strong> grow, Litecoin ETFs<\/strong> have the highest approval odds at 90%<\/strong>, followed by Dogecoin ETFs at 75%<\/strong>, Solana ETFs at 70%<\/strong>, and XRP ETFs at 65%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Following this news, Solana (SOL) price surged 2.5% in the past 24 hours<\/strong>, reaching $125.84<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
