Legendary investor Warren Buffett<\/strong> has officially announced that he will step down as CEO<\/strong> of Berkshire Hathaway<\/strong> by the end of 2025<\/strong>. Speaking at the company\u2019s annual shareholder meeting, Buffett confirmed that Greg Abel<\/strong>, already named as his successor, will take over leadership \u2014 pending what he believes will be a \u201cunanimous\u201d board approval.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time has come for Greg to become the Chief Executive Officer of the company at year-end. That will be my formal recommendation to the board,\u201d<\/em> Buffett said. He added that he would stay on in an advisory role, though \u201cthe final word would be Greg\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Buffett is renowned for delivering returns nearly double the S&P 500<\/strong> average throughout his career, Bitcoin (BTC)<\/strong> has massively outperformed Berkshire Hathaway<\/strong> in recent years.<\/p>\n

Since 2020, BTC<\/strong> has gained more than 781%<\/strong>, while Berkshire stock returned only about 150%<\/strong>. Despite having shares priced over $809,000<\/strong> and a market cap exceeding $1 trillion<\/strong>, Berkshire has trailed the crypto giant in percentage gains.<\/p>\n

Buffett and his longtime business partner Charlie Munger<\/strong> have criticized Bitcoin<\/strong> heavily, claiming it has no intrinsic value and calling it \u201ca scam.\u201d They\u2019ve repeatedly said it doesn\u2019t even qualify as a real investment.
