Tether<\/strong> has launched its flagship stablecoin, USDt<\/strong>, on the Kaia blockchain<\/strong> in a major collaboration with LINE NEXT<\/strong>, the Web3 arm of Japan’s popular messaging app LINE<\/strong>, which boasts over 196 million<\/strong> monthly active users across Asia.<\/p>\n

The integration allows USDt<\/strong> to be used within LINE\u2019s messenger-based Mini DApp ecosystem and its self-custodial wallet, enabling users to transact with stablecoins in an interface they use every day.<\/p>\n

Tether<\/strong> CEO Paolo Ardoino<\/strong> commented, \u201cThanks to LINE NEXT\u2019s blockchain infrastructure, over 200 million users can now easily engage with digital assets in daily life.\u201d<\/em> He added, \u201cOur expansion to Kaia highlights our commitment to drive stablecoin adoption across Asia.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Fast and Seamless USDt Transfers<\/h2>\n

Initially, users will earn mission-based USDt rewards<\/strong> and send peer-to-peer USDt transfers<\/strong> via LINE\u2019s in-app wallet. The functionality is expected to expand to other layers of the LINE ecosystem in future phases.<\/p>\n

The Kaia blockchain<\/strong>, known for low latency and instant finality, provides an ideal environment for stablecoin activity. Sam Seo<\/strong>, chair of the Kaia DLT Foundation<\/strong>, stated that the collaboration aims to deliver \u201cthe fastest, easiest, and most reliable USDt experience\u201d to users across LINE, DeFi platforms, and centralized exchanges.<\/p>\n

LINE NEXT<\/strong> CEO Youngsu Ko<\/strong> emphasized that this move creates a \u201cdollar-based gateway\u201d for users, making Web3 services more accessible in everyday life.<\/p>\n

Tether\u2019s USDt<\/strong> remains the largest stablecoin by market capitalization with over 149.4 billion tokens<\/strong> in circulation. On May 5<\/strong>, Tether minted $1 billion USDt<\/strong> on the Tron<\/strong> network, bringing its supply there to $71.4 billion<\/strong>. The Ethereum network<\/strong> currently holds $72.8 billion USDt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On May 6<\/strong>, Tether<\/strong> also partnered with Chainalysis<\/strong> to integrate compliance and monitoring tools into its tokenization platform, aligning with the growing regulatory scrutiny in the crypto industry.<\/p>\n
