Being added to the index has attracted passive fund investments, increasing buying pressure on the stock.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;Passive funds will be required to buy COIN shares for index alignment, which puts upward pressure on the stock,&#8221; Palmer said. The company revealed a <a href=\"https:\/\/coinengineer.net\/blog\/coinbase-cyber-attack-ceo-refuses-ransom-payment\/\"><strong>cyberattack<\/strong><\/a> in which hackers stole user data and demanded $20 million in <a href=\"https:\/\/coinengineer.net\/blog\/14-month-prison-sentence-for-bitcoin-etf-tweet\/\">Bitcoin<\/a>. CEO Brian Armstrong publicly rejected the demand via social media. Additionally, the company\u00a0confirmed it is under investigation by the <strong>U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissio<\/strong>n <strong>(SEC)<\/strong>. While these events could have concerned investors, the stock held strong.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The resilience is driven by Coinbase\u2019s growth initiatives. The company recently acquired <strong>crypto derivatives exchange Deribit<\/strong>, expanding its product offerings and global presence. In Q1, revenue increased by 24%. Moreover, its inclusion in the <strong>S&amp;P 500<\/strong> has attracted long-term institutional investors. Giant funds are now adding <strong>COIN shares<\/strong> to their portfolios.
