Although the idea of holding Bitcoin as a reserve asset remains attractive, Check argues that newer entrants will struggle to gain momentum in an increasingly saturated space.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"906\" data-end=\"1133\">\n<p data-start=\"908\" data-end=\"1133\">\u201cMy view is that the Bitcoin treasury strategy has a much shorter lifespan than people realize,\u201d says Check. Without a clear and <strong data-start=\"1037\" data-end=\"1053\">unique niche<\/strong>, he warns, companies entering the scene now may find it difficult to stand out.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1165\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Early_Movers_Have_the_Edge\"><\/span>Early Movers Have the Edge<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1402\">Check emphasizes that investors are more likely to favor companies that adopted this strategy early on. \u201cNobody wants to see the 50th Bitcoin treasury company,\u201d he remarks, highlighting the need for differentiation in a crowded market.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1404\" data-end=\"1706\">In the past 30 days alone, at least <strong data-start=\"1440\" data-end=\"1459\">21 new entities<\/strong> have reportedly added Bitcoin to their reserves. Yet, giants like <strong data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1543\">MicroStrategy<\/strong>, which holds approximately <strong data-start=\"1571\" data-end=\"1586\">597,325 BTC<\/strong>, continue to dominate the narrative. In comparison, the second-largest holder, <strong data-start=\"1666\" data-end=\"1683\">MARA Holdings<\/strong>, owns just 50,000 BTC.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1708\" data-end=\"1747\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Retail_Hype_and_the_Reality_of_Risk\"><\/span>Retail Hype and the Reality of Risk<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1749\" data-end=\"2077\">Check points out that many of these newer firms are primarily attracting <strong data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"1842\">retail investors<\/strong>, who are often drawn by speculative upside. He believes that some companies are chasing short-term profits without truly understanding the <strong data-start=\"2310\" data-end=\"2329\">long-term value<\/strong> of holding Bitcoin as part of a treasury strategy.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2382\" data-end=\"2604\">\n<p data-start=\"2384\" data-end=\"2604\">\u201cThe weak ones might get scooped up by stronger firms at a discount,\u201d Wizardheimer suggests. According to some experts, these pseudo \u201cBitcoin banks\u201d lack the infrastructure and planning required to manage large crypto holdings responsibly.
