However, the U.S. agreed to reduce tariffs on automobiles once the EU\u2019s \u201ctariff reduction law\u201d comes into effect.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"757\">Additionally, the U.S. will only apply MFN (Most-Favored Nation) tariffs to aircraft and spare parts, generic drugs, chemical precursors, and scarce natural resources.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"759\" data-end=\"903\">In return, the EU will remove tariffs on all U.S. industrial products and provide preferential access for U.S. seafood and agricultural goods.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"1151\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Energy_and_Technology_Purchases\"><\/span>Energy and Technology Purchases<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"1151\">Under the new agreement, the EU committed to purchasing $750 billion worth of LNG, oil, and nuclear products from the U.S. Furthermore, the deal includes at least $40 billion in AI chip purchases by the EU.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1153\" data-end=\"1247\">These measures aim to strengthen U.S.-EU cooperation in both energy security and technology.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1489\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Investment_and_Strategic_Cooperation\"><\/span>Investment and Strategic Cooperation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1489\">The EU has agreed to invest $600 billion in U.S. strategic sectors by 2028. The two sides also plan to negotiate rules of origin to ensure that the benefits remain limited to bilateral relations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1772\">In addition, new cooperation mechanisms are being considered for protecting the steel and aluminum markets, removing barriers to digital trade, and securing supply chains. The EU pledged not to introduce network usage fees, while tariff quota solutions are also under discussion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1774\" data-end=\"1986\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">This new U.S.-EU trade agreement paves the way for large-scale investments in both energy and technology sectors.
