This administration will use bitcoin, digital assets, and blockchain to move America forward and remain a leader in the global economy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"1258\" data-end=\"1297\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Other_Steps_in_Crypto_and_Finance\"><\/span>Other Steps in Crypto and Finance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1298\" data-end=\"1397\">Under the Trump administration, several initiatives are underway regarding blockchain and crypto:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1401\" data-end=\"1493\">Promoting dollar-backed stablecoins to strengthen the U.S. dollar\u2019s global reserve status.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1595\">Efforts by the SEC and CFTC to clarify which cryptocurrencies should be classified as securities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1597\" data-end=\"1794\">Howard Lutnick was nominated by Trump in February as Commerce Secretary and was later confirmed. He had previously served as Chairman and CEO of <strong>Cantor Fitzgerald,<\/strong> where he had worked since 1983.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1796\" data-end=\"1946\">Cantor serves as custodian for <strong>USDT<\/strong>, the world\u2019s largest stablecoin.
