Once stablecoins enter our lives, every bank and financial service company will need to accept them. The Genius Act, approved by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Donald Trump, became the country\u2019s first federal stablecoin regulation.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%9CCompliance_Obligation%E2%80%9D_for_Banks\"><\/span>\u201cCompliance Obligation\u201d for Banks<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>VanEck\u2019s CEO noted that many companies are quickly adopting stablecoins, and banks will have to keep up with this transformation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf I want to send you a stablecoin, your bank has to handle it. Otherwise, you\u2019ll find another institution that will.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to a report by Fireblocks, a corporate-level digital asset platform, 90% of institutional investors are exploring stablecoin use. This indicates that Ethereum is poised to play a critical role in the financial sector going forward.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Support_from_the_Trump_Side\"><\/span>Support from the Trump Side<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In April, Eric Trump expressed a similar view, stating that banks must adopt crypto, or they risk disappearing over the next decade.<\/p>\n<p>Jan van Eck\u2019s comments are particularly significant given his company\u2019s Ether-based ETF product. In July 2024, the U.S. SEC approved VanEck\u2019s ETH ETF, which tracks the price of Ether and currently holds over $284\u202fmillion in assets.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ETH_Record_and_Treasury_Purchases\"><\/span>ETH Record and Treasury Purchases<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Ethereum reached an all-time high of $4,946 in August. Over the past month, more than $6\u202fbillion worth of Ether has been purchased.
