DCJPY is backed by some of Japan\u2019s biggest financial groups, including MUFG.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"1139\">With the new system, customers will be able to instantly convert their savings into DCJPY tokens and use them to purchase tokenized securities targeting yields of 3% to 5%. This will allow transactions that traditionally take days in the financial system to settle almost instantly. The bank particularly aims to attract younger investors with this initiative.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1181\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Japans_Push_Toward_Digitalization\"><\/span>Japan\u2019s Push Toward Digitalization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1434\">The report adds that DeCurret DCP has been in talks not only with banks but also with local governments, with the goal of digitalizing subsidies and grants via DCJPY. So far, only GMO Aozora Net Bank has taken on the role of \u201cminting bank\u201d for DCJPY.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1686\">Japan Post Bank\u2019s planned deposit token will function differently from a stablecoin. While stablecoins are issued by private companies, the deposit token will directly represent deposits at the bank and operate on a permissioned blockchain network.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1717\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Regulatory_Developments\"><\/span>Regulatory Developments<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1718\" data-end=\"2051\"><em data-start=\"1718\" data-end=\"1726\">Nikkei<\/em> also reported that the Japan Financial Services Agency is expected to approve the country\u2019s first yen-denominated stablecoin, issued by Tokyo-based fintech JPYC, this fall.
