However, the company\u2019s story did not begin with <strong>Bitcoin<\/strong>. The company went public on NASDAQ in 1998 under the ticker <strong>MSTR<\/strong>, but after accounting issues with the SEC in the early 2000s, its shares traded in a narrow band for a long time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1428\">The real turning point came in 2020. Led by Michael Saylor, the company made a historic move in the financial world by adopting Bitcoin as its reserve asset. In line with this vision, the company\u2019s Bitcoin purchases grew steadily.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"1967\">\n<li data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"1785\">\n<p data-start=\"1672\" data-end=\"1785\">The company financed its Bitcoin investments through methods such as issuing convertible bonds and stock sales.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1786\" data-end=\"1892\">\n<p data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"1892\">At the beginning of 2025, it launched a new stock under the ticker STRK, aiming to raise $584 million.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1893\" data-end=\"1967\">\n<p data-start=\"1895\" data-end=\"1967\">In February 2025, it announced a $2 billion convertible bond issuance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1969\" data-end=\"2219\">This strategy was later adopted by other publicly traded companies (e.g., MARA, Riot Platforms). The total value of these holdings exceeds $72 billion, and the company has made $15.5 billion in profit from its purchases to date (as of February 2025).<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2993\" data-end=\"3030\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Michael_Saylors_Bitcoin_Vision\"><\/span>Michael Saylor\u2019s Bitcoin Vision<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3032\" data-end=\"3264\">Although Michael Saylor is one of the strongest advocates of Bitcoin today, he was not always so. In a 2013 tweet, he even said that Bitcoin\u2019s \u201cdays were numbered.\u201d However, from 2020 onward, he took a completely different stance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3266\" data-end=\"3444\">Saylor describes Bitcoin as \u201cdigital gold\u201d and projects its price at $13 million in a 21-year outlook. According to him, <em data-start=\"3387\" data-end=\"3442\">\u201cEverything that can be tokenized will be tokenized.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3446\" data-end=\"3702\">In line with this vision, Strategy\u2019s goal is not only to build a massive Bitcoin treasury but also to transform into a trillion-dollar Bitcoin bank.
