According to Lee, this decision made the U.S. dollar \u201cfully synthetic,\u201d allowing it to dominate global financial markets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"848\">Drawing a parallel with Ethereum\u2019s evolution, Lee explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"849\" data-end=\"1020\">\n<p data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"1020\">\u201cEthereum could overtake Bitcoin just like Wall Street and equities replaced gold. The post-1971 rise of the dollar could be a similar opportunity for Ethereum today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1327\">Currently, Bitcoin\u2019s market capitalization stands at around $2.17 trillion, while Ethereum\u2019s is approximately $476 billion \u2014 meaning Bitcoin remains about 4.6 times larger. Yet, Lee argues that Ethereum\u2019s growing role in decentralized finance and tokenization could close this gap over time.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1334\" data-end=\"1383\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Theory_Behind_Ethereums_Potential_Rise\"><\/span>The Theory Behind Ethereum\u2019s Potential Rise<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1385\" data-end=\"1557\">Lee suggests that Ethereum\u2019s advantage will grow as tokenization of real-world assets accelerates. He draws comparisons with the dollar\u2019s transformation in the 1970s:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1694\">\n<p data-start=\"1560\" data-end=\"1694\">\u201cThe dollar\u2019s dominance grew from 27% of global GDP to 57% of central bank reserves. A similar opportunity now exists for Ethereum.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1869\">According to Lee, the increasing tokenization of stablecoins, stocks, and real estate will expand Ethereum\u2019s utility and strengthen its position within global finance.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1876\" data-end=\"1924\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Flippening_Debate_Gains_Momentum_Again\"><\/span>The Flippening Debate Gains Momentum Again<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1926\" data-end=\"2332\">The possibility of Ethereum surpassing Bitcoin has been a recurring theme for years, but recent comments have reignited the conversation.
