SEC has once again delayed its decision regarding the Ethereum ETF<\/strong> application of many important investment companies!<\/p>\n

On 18 December, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC<\/strong>) delayed its decision to evaluate the EHashdex Nasdaq Ethereum ETF<\/strong> and Grayscale Ethereum Futures ETF<\/strong> applications until May 2024, along with procedures that included gathering more public input.<\/p>\n

This decision draws attention with the aim of the Hashdex ETF<\/strong> to hold both spot Ether and futures contracts, and the potential of the Grayscale Ethereum Futures ETF<\/strong> to convert the Ethereum Trust into a spot Ethereum ETF.<\/p>\n

This development is considered as \u201cexpected\u201d by Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart<\/strong>, and a decision was expected before December 25. Seyffart predicts the SEC’s final decision date on Ethereum ETFs as the end of May.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the SEC has also withdrawn the spot Ethereum ETF applications submitted by VanEck<\/strong> and ARK Invest<\/strong> and 21Shares<\/strong>. This situation shows that the regulator has not yet approved a spot or hybrid type Ethereum product.<\/p>\n

In addition to this news, the market is focused on whether the SEC will approve 13 spot Bitcoin ETFs. According to Bloomberg ETF analysts Eric Balchunas<\/strong> and James Seyffart<\/strong>, the SEC could make its decision about spot Bitcoin ETFs as early as January 10. Both analysts estimate the chance of spot Bitcoin ETF approval as 90%.<\/p>\n
