When Will There Be Final SEC Approval for Ethereum?

Ethereum Pectra

ETF Store President Nate Gerac has made a prediction about the SEC’s final approval of a spot Ethereum ETF.

In a May 28 X post, Gerac focused on the date of the final spot Ethereum ETF approval by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

While Gerac made it clear that no one can know for sure, he said that with the best possible guess, final approval could come within the next few weeks. If the process drags on, he predicted that approval could come within 2-3 months at the latest:

“When will the SEC approve spot eth ETF registration statements? No one knows for sure, but my expectation is the next few weeks. Maximum 2-3 months.”

Last week, the SEC approved 19b-4 filings from spot Ethereum ETF issuers. However, for the entire process to be finalized and the ETFs in question to start trading, the S-1 filings will also need to be approved.

Some cryptocurrency analysts believe that final approval, as was the case with the Bitcoin ETF process, will trigger a much stronger upward momentum in the price of Ethereum.
